Hnghhh... kawaii~ But that means best girl's screen time will be less after her arc is over T_T Kirin is one of a few big boobed girls that I like, only other than Sena. She's cute and cool and lovable in every way! Kirin x Ayato... on first name basis lol. She's too goddamn cute! Anyone saying her voice is annoying are crazy! That is like saying the best monster girl, Papi, have an annoying voice! More Kirin please! Also damn... that end credit scene.. A saya and Kirin team up. | Is great to see Kirin finally stand up to her uncle and I love the way she stop his punches. She should definitely team up Saya since both if them have the same goal. The duel was nice and the fight scene was well animated. Hopefully the next episode Saya gets more screen time and hopefully I learn more about Ayato's sister. |

Ayato was supposed to entirely vaporize the the big monster(they could have made it a bit more intimidating though) like the LN instead of cutting it in half as the core was moving around. Well at least they showed Ayato can't use meteo arts normally and using those high prana techniques shortens his time quite a bit. The 2nd fight was done well even though it was a bit short (well Ayato himself is short on time too). But that spear, kodachi and CQC techniques one after another was pretty awesome. I wish it was longer but considering they rushed the 2nd volume a bit (3 episodes) and still managed to get in most of the important stuff, it was well adapted. Sadly they cut out Julis patting Ayato on the head after his victory. I hope they tone down the Kirin fanservice though.......well there isn't much canon fanservice in the next volumes (maybe 1 or 2 scenes per volume) so i can't exactly blame them either. Well volume 3 starts from next episode and the tournament would probably start from the one after the next episode. I hope they extend the fights a bit though. The fights till now were good but they were a bit short. Pretty much this. I too remember that he vaporized the entire plesiosaur in the LN, and was disappointed that they ended up making that fight less exciting than it was suppose to be in the novel. The way and length of time they were expositing in the water would make you think that they didn't really care that the creature was circling around them to attack, and took a lot of tension out from that, which wasn't true at all. The second fight was also a bit disappointing. I understand and appreciate the need for them to introduce Kirin's techniques, but doing it all by standing around mid-battle really took away from the excitement of the match. I'd much rather she threw out a few sentences and Ayato would have then had an inner monologue about the rest WHILST FIGHTING. That would have made things so much more exciting and interesting. For those hating on the uncle, don't be too hard on him. He's just jealous that his brother and niece got the good genes and became Genestella, whilst he's stuck being a normal-ass human. Sorry little jealous prick, he is. :P That said, as expected they couldn't cram so little content into four episodes, so they rushed this one a bit to finish volume 2 in 3 eps instead. It's a pretty good call, though it cuts away from some of the more important stuff, like Ayato reminding Julis at the end (who was kinda pissed he accepted Kirin's duel request) that he's now Ranked number 1 (like he planned it all out beforehand) instead of an unranked participant, and that their combined seedings in the Phoenix just went up tenfold because of it. The scenes at the very end with Saya asking Kirin to team up and of course the nasty little intro of Ardi and Rimsi just whet my appetite for the Phoenix even more. Cannot wait till next week for it to start! |

| Not really a fan of the whole fighting lizards and underground thing. That was so damn boring. Glad Kirin was able to finally get rid of her jackass uncle. This show is ok, but its been kind of meh lately. |
| Kirin development episode, I like it. She is so cute and she got some really nice moments this episode! I'm glad she got rid of her uncle. I dislike the small mumbling she does though, that which makes her character kind of, idk, obvious. ED so relaxing :3 |

| Kirin finally stood up for herself and now she is free from her uncle's reign. The fight between Kirin and Ayato was really good surprisingly especially when Ayato used the grappling style technique. I did not see that coming in this anime. It is really nice to see characters in a weapon based fighting anime not afraid to use hand to hand combat when necessary. ~Great episode!!! |

| Episode that has some flaws, but in principle I consider good overall. Much of the credit goes to what happens at the end, I mean the fight, not the scene set up by the tutor of Kirin where Ayato takes the ball and poses as cool, which ones I did not like. The plot moves forward but it seems rather silly that nobody knows what is happening, let me hesitant. Drawings and animations good, but I expect a lot more still by Studio A1 Pictures.
