 The 46th issue of Weekly Shounen Magazine, which will go on sale on October 14, revealed that the previously announced Koe no Katachi anime movie adaptation will be produced by Kyoto Animation. It will be the studio's first production of a movie which is not already part of an existing anime franchise.Naoko Yamada (Tamako Love Story) will direct the movie. The award-winning manga series, which uses themes of bullying and disability, was written and illustrated Yoshitoki Ooima. It was originally published as a one-shot in February 2011 and was later serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine between August 2013 and November 2014. | Hell yeah! This is great news! KyoAni has excellent animation (and is one of my favorite studios) and the director has a great track record. The chances of this being a great movie are even higher now. |

| What about the art, will it be the same as manga or KyoAni style? I really want it to stay the same as manga but I just can't imagine KyoAni doing different art style then what they usually do. Well anyway, I won't mind even if they change the character design. 'A Silent Voice' is without a doubt one of the best Manga I've read although I haven't read too many.The director is also great. She directed Clannad and AS, Tamako Love Market and Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Hyped for this one. Also doesn't the Manga's author look like 13? Typical Japanese non-aging technique. |

| Not necessarily good or bad news (to me) since KyoAni does produce beautiful visuals, but this was really surprising. Haven't really read the series anyways, only the one-shot, but as long as they don't change the character designs, it should be fine. I think everything else they've done in the recent years are LN adaptations aside from Tamako Market, so this will be different since I think studios usually take less liberties with manga adaptations (from what I've observed anyways). |

| Kinda surprising, but Naoko Yamada is a darn good director. I don't know what this'll look like, but I trust that she'll make this something amazing. It's nice to see KyoAni reaching for new heights. As impressive as they have been so far, they could become something still better. I'm a sucker for their cute shows, but I'd love no end to see them animate more great stories like Koe no Katachi. |

| this is certainly pretty big news for kyoani and is right up yamada's alley in accordance to her style in romanticism real well. here's hoping they'll do a great job and yamada gets a chance to make more movies in the future, tamako love story was wonderful. |
