| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Great first episode. Excellent atmosphere and a lot of potential to build on, though it comes across as a bit slow. Very interesting setting which is nice to see. I always admire these shows that portray philanthropic characters but don't exhibit maudlin tendencies or something overtly saccharine. My god though that "Amazing Grace" scene was quite powerful - a real sense of community spirit here. Wonderful. I'm quite impressed to say the least. Though I found Steven's VA to be a bit jarring, but everyone else seemed to hit the spot. On to the next episode. |
