 A scan of the latest edition of Young King OURs magazine revealed that an anime adaptation of Drifters is in production. The type of anime is still unknown.The action fantasy series is written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano, the author behind Hellsing. It began serialization in seinen magazine Young King OURs in April 2009. The manga was nominated for the Manga Taishou award twice, once in 2011 and again in 2012. Synopsis Shimazu Toyohisa, whilst involved at the Battle of Sekigahara, manages to mortally wound Ii Naomasa, but is critically wounded in the process. As he walks from the field broken and bleeding, Toyohisa finds himself transported to a corridor of doors where a bespectacled man at a desk waits for him. This man, Murasaki, sends Toyohisa into the nearest door where he wakes up in another world. There, Toyohisa meets other great warriors like him who have been transported as well, to be part of a group known as "Drifters." (Source: Wikipedia) A teaser trailer for the series was included in the final volume of Hellsing Ultimate in late 2012. Approximately 4 minutes long, it cast Yuuichi Nakamura as Toyohisa Shimazu and Mitsuru Miyamoto as Murasaki. The fourth compiled volume of Drifters was released in October 2014 and it topped Oricon's weekly manga rankings chart. | OMG!!! Cant belive this shit. Drifters is one of the fist mangas Ive read at the time, when I was mosly watching/reading mainstream. I started it complatly random (I used the random buton) and started reading it. I didnt knew it was from the maker of Hellsing at the time, however I stoped at one point reading. Dunno why, I just got distracted. However I dont know how to feel about it. From my memory I would say people here are expecting too much. I think it has some fantasy elements combined with history and the most importent part...quite violent. |

| This is the best birthday present i could get, an adaptation of one of my favorites manga. I would like it to be OVA's, the 2 min short "preview" of Drifters that came in the last Hellsing OVA was fucking great: An eyegasm, eargasm and i jizzed my pants the first time i watched it. |

| ^ You can perish that thought. It's got the same style and vibe as Hellsing Ultimate, so although the setting is entirely different, if you hated Ultimate, it's unlikely that you'll come to enjoy Drifters. |
