| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That's quite the string of misfortune. Some lovely reactions and sfx moments this episode. There's definitely something of a nice reminder in this story: with the extraordinary, peculiar, or inexplicable- so easily do we come to the mystical and supernatural conclusion. How easily do we discriminate and attribute things causation despite lack of direct connection. We really do deceive ourselves when we assume ourselves reasonable and logical beings; we're so often not. |
| This is truly a standout episode. Superstition is particularly strong among the Chinese community, and black is said to be a colour of misfortune, and this episode highlights it well. |

| Another really satisfying episode. That girl suffered a lot with her reckless brother throwing his life away to pursue a dream, and with the superstitious folk. But thanks to Mao her brother's dream didn't end up as a fool's errand, and now she has a brighter future waiting for her. I loved how assertive Mao was when he said that they would understand his dish if they only took a bite of it. They fashioned themselves as chicken experts, but they couldn't look beyond their own prejudices and preconceptions at first. Welp, I guess we are back to Canton. |

| A chicken dish without using chicken meat in the food, learning new dishes every episode. Suprised to suddenly see Chouyu at the end, I really hope he actually takes Shirou with him |
