Sure, why not. Watch a few episodes and if you don't like it then you can drop it.

Well, it's not like I'm supporting watching the Deen Fate/stay night, but this new series doesn't adapt the same route. So....

Either wait for the remake or watch the DEEN version... But this is DEEN, do you really want to do that?
Steel Ball Run anime when?

I've also considered watching this recently but decided on just playing through the visual novel which is quite interesting so far. I'll probably go through some parts of the anime after just to see how things fare. There's no hurt in trying...I think. You can also drop it if you don't like it ^^;

Ufotable will still most likely add important char development bits from the first route into it, since the outcome for that character is the same.

ANd the person can still play the vn if there are things left unclear after the remake.

I watched fate/zero first which means I connected with saber a lot more after watching this one. If you want to cry and be confused and get socpissed at whoever wrote the ending, then go ahead. Honestly the ending is probably one of the worst endings to a series I've ever seen. It brought no satisfaction to me. I left angry, sad, and confused. Beware

The ending to this one? One of the best parts about the route, imo. One of the few things that was done pretty well in this adaptation. Though I'm not sure if Deen properly got over that this ending was actually a somewhat happy one.

Yeah, Shirou is supposed to NOT regret his choices and move on with his life, instead of crying over how the holy messiah disappeared.

Too bad for you, Charlesman30, but don't expect any pity.

The bittersweet ending makes the ending so much better. Saber got her resolution and found peace, but she and Shirou couldn't stay together. That's a pretty well-written end for her if one ignores that they have a minimal chance to reunite in Last Episode.

After I calmed my bitch ass down, I thought more about it, and here is my review of Fate/Stay Night:

I believe, even with the ending, its an 8. The ending was rather terrible leaving the viewer unsatisfied and depressed and it felt extremely incomplete. BUT, if there is a series where Shiro goes out to find Saber, then the ending was rather genius, but I don't think there will be because they made another series that came chronologically after Stay Night but it didn't have anything to do with Saber. In fact, in the Legend of King Arthur, he doesn't die. He is carried to Avalon to heal for hundreds of years, which is supported by her line "I believe I shall sleep for a very long time." And Shiro basically said that he would find a way to be with her again, so there HAS to be another series or at least a movie. If not, then that would have been the worst anime endings I've ever seen(my opinion.) The journey up to that point was exceptional, evening out to an 8. If there IS a series coming up sooner or later about Shiro waking Saber from her sleep, then the ending was rather brilliant.

Deen/stay night is not an 8.
And I mean that in the most sexually painful way possible.

There's no way in hell DEENFSN is worth of an 8/10. 8/100, maybe, but not 8/10

. The ending was rather terrible leaving the viewer unsatisfied and depressed and it felt extremely incomplete.

Except its complete and the only good part of the show?
Saber does not regret her path and pays the price for her actions, dying in peace and going to avalon, instead of being doomed to be heroic spirit.
Shirou follows his ideal unwavering till the end of his life.

How is that not a happy ending?

BUT, if there is a series where Shiro goes out to find Saber, then the ending was rather genius, but I don't think there will be because they made another series that came chronologically after Stay Night but it didn't have anything to do with Saber.

Why whould Shirou search for Saber? That would mean regretting his choices and its something this SHirou would not do.

In fact, in the Legend of King Arthur, he doesn't die. He is carried to Avalon to heal for hundreds of years, which is supported by her line "I believe I shall sleep for a very long time."

Yes, Avalon is her "afterlife" till the end of the world.
And Shiro basically said that he would find a way to be with her again, so there HAS to be another series or at least a movie.

Nope.

I looked more into it and watched the Fate/Stay Night (Realta Nua) - Last Episode and now I understand why there isn't going to be another series concerning them, and it makes a lot more sense. But for some odd reason, I'm just still a little unsatisfied. I know I should be satisfied though. Thanks for yall's insight and I respect your opinions. NOW, is there any other Fate series you think I should look into? And do you think the Fate/Stay Night (2014) remake by Ufotable will be much better?

Yeah, I'm serious.

There's as many opinions as there are people; there's bound to be some who would prefer first anime.

I mean, look at me, I'm actually a guy who consider Shinji as one of best male characters in series - someone (me) you don't meet very often.

Actually, I know lots of people who like Shinji. They even added the omitted Shinji route where you join forces with him in Fate!

His nicer side was cut from the VN because of time restrictions and then Type-Moon decided to walk the full-asshole road with him. There are some nice scenes with him in Fate/hollow ataraxia.

I dont mind with how they treated him at all.

I always did consider the "he became nicer" ending as bullshit anyway.

Even if he has a "nicer side" he is still an asshole that cant be liked.Jokes dont count.

Since you're asking about watching the anime, sure give it a watch if you have time.

Not as good as Fate/Zero or as the remake probably will be. But it does contribute to the bigger Fate story.

Watch both Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero in either order before you watch the current ongoing series though I think is the way to go. 0 and SN both spoil each other equally--if you want to stay chronological watch 0 first. If you want to get the lower quality series over with first, and go with release order watch F/SN first.

Skip 2010 movie as it's being remade now.

No it does not contribute to the story. None of the things in this "adaptation" are canon and it directly contradicts both Fate/Zero, visual novel AND the current remake.
