| There's a whole bunch of strange weirdos in this anime LOL. He get's muscle pain the first day but can go few hours straight the next day wow. Not to mention getting ecstasy from hitting a ball. I don't get it. I really don't. I still take Ei-chan's friend as the best character.. he's hilarious. xD |

| I'm kind of changing my mind on Takuma. He's pretty immature. Maruo is better for Natsu at this point and I hate saying this because I'm not one to 'ship' people together. Also, I read a spoiler about what's going to happen in the future. lol |

| The way the episode started self aware and poking fun at itself for using such an obvious misunderstanding as a cliff hanger was really funny. Takuma seems to be pretty stoic but deep down he's really childish in an amusing way. Twice in this episode he mocked authority figures the second he got a chance to, one by making faces at his coach as he looked away, and by verbally mocking his teacher. He's the complete opposite from Maruo. Delinquent and honor student, sporadic and predictable, hard worker and carefree, standoffish and docile. It's as if these two will be great rivals, almost as much as Maruo and eyebrow kid. |

| Solid episode, time really flew by watching this. Felt like 5 minutes instead of 20+. Maruo's getting better at a steady rate, now he's a D Court player. He did get his ass kicked by a kid but in terms of tennis age, he's a damn fetus in comparison to the kid. Still like how he doesn't have any ego, and tries to learn from his errors and mistakes to improve his game. Guy's got some good character. Same can't exactly be said for Takuma though here. He's got some absolute first-class serves and all the power in the world but his mood swings are something else. He's a really volatile person and easily frustrated. Guy even threw picked Maruo up and threw him down out of anger for no reason (only things so far that could be related is the expectations of him given his game sense and abilities OR that Natsu's been paying attention to Maruo a lot recently and he's been annoyed by that). Maruo about to face 50 serves from Takuma. The odds are somehow not in Maruo's favor given he's a rookie and Takuma's a person who's abilities are borderline-pro. Still, a solid cliffhanger for a solid episode. I do wish that this anime got more attention or bad a better studio/budget. It doesn't look bad but some of the tennis sequences look flat because of the lack of real animation there. Feels like a PowerPoint at times. Good thing everything else about Baby Steps makes up for the mediocre effort visually. |

| Jeez, "baby steps" is an understatement, it's been rather slow and meticulous so far which is kind of neat in a way. A lot of rule explanations and technical jargon going on. Where's the pretty single handers though? Hope this anime isn't full of fugly double handed backhands. |
