| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I thought this short was pretty good. It did suffer a bit from a few uninteresting scenes, but the battle was cool, and the ending was pretty moving. |

| Overall just a plotless, random bunch of mecha and war, anyway, the animation was fine & the end was pretty sad. I also liked the ending song. Never seen such crappy doctors, btw. :-| |

| Mindless fire exchange for the most part in a somehow senseless fight. I didn’t even know what I was watching. Holds some deep meaning as it was showed to the end, though. I know it was serious but I couldn’t stop a chuckle escaping me at the: “Taichoooouuuu~!” “Kakitaaaaa~!” “Sasajimaaaaaa~!” It just seemed too out of place. |

| I liked this one. The deep effects that the war had on him. I liked the light of the goggles and the firing against the dark background. The battle was also averagely interesting. Makes me yearn for a good new war anime. |

| They didn't make the short clear enough to deserve more than 3/5. Their animation style is pretty good though. Just need to make it clear regarding characters, cause, I didn't either figure out who the protagonist was, or that the whole thing was a flash-back. |

| Nice art. They were trying to say something about the meaningless and futility of war maybe? They don't tell us if we're watching the "good" or "bad" guys. It is just random soldiers fighting an apparently meaningless fight. Maybe they're trying to say that's all war is? Random soldiers fighting meaningless fights? I dunno... |

| Along the lines of All's Quiet on the Western Front and Johnny Got His Gun. Futility of war and the horror of being a soldier in one. The last soldier died seeing the terrible cost of that battle and just because his facial muscles relaxed at death, the doctors think he died in peace. What a farce......but that was the point. Very nicely done. |
