'Shingeki no Kyojin' to Air on Toonami Beginning May 2014

An announcement made on Toonami's official Tumblr page reveals that Toonami will begin to air Shingeki no Kyojin starting May 3, 2014.

The post also reveals that Shingeki no Kyojin will be taking over the 11:30 p.m. time slot.

From what I've heard and watched, the English dub looks like it'll hold up in quality. Guess I'll watch the series a second time around!

No. F*cking. Shit. Knew this was going to happen... but didn't expect it to be this early. Especially having it aired a month before Part 1 of the Blu-ray/DVD set. No doubt another way of boosting sales and fans.

This series is pretty much a gold mine, of course they would try to milk it as much they can.

I'm assuming Toonami isn't for kids anymore because it's including this show in one of the timeslots? Last time I watched Toonami (5-6 yrs ago) it didn't include any R-rated animes.

Nah, its not really a kids block. Especially not anymore. Black Lagoon, Deadman Wonderland, GitS:SAC, and Akira have all aired on it in recent days.

Also, a lot of people seem to hate this show. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I enjoyed it. I hate to sound like a fanboy or something, but I honestly think that a lot of the criticism for it is mainly because of how popular it has gotten. Granted, there is some valid criticism here and there, but the majority seem to be latching onto a hate bandwagon.

Most of the people that I have seen that hate this show are on this website and they come out anytime there is a new announcement for the anime.

It'll be interesting to see how the ratings will shape for this...

Also, a bit off topic but how well did Space Dandy do on Toonami?
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Well, hey, there have been worse anime out that that have had 'larger audiences'. Take DBZ, Naruto, and Bleach as examples. I wouldn't call them great anime by a long shot, but they at least get a large number of people into anime. I'm not the least bit shamed to say that these shows are what got me into anime. AoT is the kind of anime could very well be that impact that drives casual viewers to watch more.
