| Pretty good so far, It seems to me that Guts acts as though he doesn't care when people die around him to keep himself sane. I mean, in the chapter before this it was obvious he felt SOMETHING when the girl died. |

| I think my favorite part of this manga thus far is the art. The attention to detail is truly magnificent... especially where intestines are involved. It's weird, but I feel like I'm really going to have an exceptionally strong love/hate liaison with Guts. He's a certified badass to be certain, yet he's a few steps beyond "badass" into "callous," and I get the impression he's swiftly approaching "psychotic." I can't wait to see how he's developed; I already have my theories. |

| Not really sure if the girl was really a heretic or Guts drew the brand on her forehead with his own blood as a taunt but I think it's more of the latter. | Nice end to the first volume! I definitely need to try to pick up some more! Guts is a really interesting MC. He is a badass, but done right. Of course I don't know much about him but there is clearly something past the surface. His rough and tough demeanor defiantly seems to have a level of depth to it. And I can't wait to pick up another volume and discover this part of Guts! Volume Score: 8.3/10 Chapter Score: 8/10 |

| Guts was brutal this chapter. I'm surprised the army wasn't discouraged at how he was cutting through them! Also the chapter ended with quite a revelation. Gut knows something about that oval object! |

| I don't really get why the captain's war hammer exploded when it touched Guts' sword, but I'm not complaining it was a cool scene after all. |
