Well it seems like it would be better if they end the series at episode 49.....

Indeed, this anime should have ended with the episode 39 which concluded everything perfectly. Oh well, I'll regard this as a sort of epilogue.

I wonder what King En meant by "his other side"?

Oh boy i get a feeling that general of the royal army will end up with Shoukei?

That's how I'm looking at it. It just seems to be tying up any final loose ends, like Shoukei wanting to "atone" for her sins.

I got that feeling too, haha! Just the way they were interacting seems to make it obvious that there's more then just friendship or companionship there...

I wonder if they'll ever tie up those loose ends surrounding Yuka and the ex-Taiki, the black kirin?

Kind of surprised we're starting another arc. I thought this would just be an epilogue since episode 39 wrapped things up (for the rebellion at least) nicely.
"May those who accept their fate be granted happiness."

"May those who defy their fate be granted glory."

I wonder if by his other self ,Shouryuu means the life he led before he became king of En.Wasn't he a young master of someplace I don't remeber and he lost his father and the people?

Lovely episode, I was worried of the episodes would be bad, yet it was good. Ofcourse I won't expect excitement as it was in the previous arc. But some lovely moments and great connections and development from the characters here and there.

Queen of Kyou is pretty arrogant, but I guess she's pretty wise
Maybe she doesn't even want to meet Shoukei

Kei is helping Hou indirectly
and King En is about to reveal his secret?

Hey that was pretty nice episode xD

What an episode. Really it is like an arc in one, if the last episode was the sun, then it's only fitting that the development in this episode is it's counterpoint the moon. The struggle is almost entirely internal as opposed to the great external changes last episode

Kind of nice "epilogue" episode.
"The future is always blank. Only your willpower can leave footsteps there."

"Ruling over death means ruling over life. Death is the climax of life. To have the best death, you must honor life."

This episode, and anime in general, seems to show that good virtues can be bad in excess. Kind of like King En was so charismatic that people followed him to their death. In this case, the need of purity and no crimes was so excess, that even small crimes were punished. It shows that trying to go hard on crime is paradoxically to the detriment of society. A perfect society is imperfect.
