(apologies if this turns out to be a duplicate post...I posted it a few minutes ago and it didn't seem to take).

New releases from http://skarohuntingsociety.blogspot.com/

GeGeGe no Kitaro 2-7 (1968) version 2. I'd been meaning to get to this for a while, but I decided to make sure I completed and released it before the end of the year (along with version 2 of Cyborg 009 1-5).

Also, a special Christmas release: Suteneko Tora-chan (aka Little Tora, the Abandoned Cat), a 1947 Christmas themed short directed by Kenzō Masaoka. Masaoka is a very important figure in the history of animation and his work has long been overlooked by animation fans around the world. He was the first anime creator in Japan to use cell animation and recorded sound. In addition to attempting to spread holiday happiness and cheer by subtitling this, I'm also trying to do my bit to make sure just a few more people out there become aware of Masaoka's work.

Licca Fansubs has released episode 23 of A Little Princess Sara. This marks the halfway point of the series, and we still haven't reached the climax of the series!

Hahaha! Indeed! Goodbye to my cover. Actually, I saw that title on tokyo toshokan early today and as usual with stuff that I don't know about, copied to paste it on anidb to look up info on it. Needless to say that I concluded that it's not my cup of tea.
Looks like I messed on posting the link to Gin fansub.
Edited the last post with the correct link this time.

Also, Nanto has released the second episode of Casshan. :)

Two new releases at http://www.skarohuntingsociety.blogspot.com/ Episode 8 of Cyborg 009 and the Vifam OVA "The 12 Who Vanished".

Best,

I wouldn't back off, in any case. Considering how our work gets drowned out by the more modern stuff, we need all the exposure we can get.

Hey! wait...

My bad. Badly interpreted joke. As I updated the lists on the first page, I noticed that at this time The Skaro Hunting Society is the most active fansub group in the list, so it's all good.

And I'm very happy to have you guys coming here and wouldn't want the other way. In fact this little work of mine is done so it can reach as many eyes as it can get, after all the purpose of this topic is solemnly to provide updated info on works like yours to whoever may be interested. Everyone is welcome to provide info, even more the fansubbers themselves.

I try my best, but I know that there are a lot of people interested in old school anime that don't know of the existence of this little corner on the web. I'll keep it going and try to catch more people eyes and hope you guys will keep it too and wish you all the best.

Every bit does help.

One of the things I am hoping for with exposure like this is that if more people knew about these older anime series, we can get more folks involved in subbing these works instead of congregating on the latest and greatest.

Yes. I accidently found you guys when I was looking for the real old stuff. I have a copy of the 1945 "Umi no Shinpei" and was hoping I could find someone to sub it.

Just like Rob, I can live with that. It would be good to read/watch Japanese propaganda anime. History isn't always pretty, but ignoring it would be a disservice to the history of anime. It would be no different than watching all the propaganda that Warner Bros. did with Loony Tunes.

Frenchies-Subs released Dragon Quest Daibouken episode 14, for those who are interested. (Not my cup of tea, of course.)

Takara Fansubs released Remy (the WMT version) episode 2 and Romeo Blue Skies episode 3. (Definitely my cup of tea, of course.)

(I kind of feel I should make these known, as the diehard old-school mecha fans seem to ignore these...)
