Commencing laughing at the people who were surprised by Ali's appearance in 3... 2... 1... Laughing. Seriously, we were shown Ali alive already in the end of the first season, no reason to be so shocked now.

Everyone's so surprised about Ali Al Sachez's coming back... Looking at the style of things, we'll probably get a flashback of how he managed to survive at the beginning of episode 6 (like how the last 4 episodes (except episode 1) showed a bit of the past before the OP).

I'm also one of the few (or many) who don't really dislike Saji Crossroad. He's still quite immature since entering the fray of the battlefield, trying to get out of the whole mess & living happily ever after. But I believe at some point he'll face the A-LAWS again & meet his ex-lover (who seem to have amnesia at the moment).

Also for those who still wish for Neil to come back, it's not gonna happen. MapleRose, good point there. The helmet part was also explicitly seen in the S1 Extended Ending.

Lastly about the villians, I feel that Soma have the highest chances of defecting or at least end up in CB. Either way she'll get her memory back. Not sure about the other 2 characters; they already are stressed out in their position (particularly Kati)

Well. Not everyone can be a guerilla like Setsuna or Ali. The world has "normal", more careful and "unuseful" people, too, you know? I doubt that any of us here will prove to be of use in a real war. Plus, the fact that the base got eliminated isn't entirely Saji's fault- he was just acting like a human instead of a "superhuman". People who blame and bash Saji for episode 5 prove to lack understanding for human nature and its weaknesses.

I totally agree. Remember Saji is just a civilian...

They had to have Saji do something that'd have extreme consequences to have him come to terms with why and how Celestial Being (Setsuna specifically) do what they do, and continue as they do.

At the very least, he'll probably stop whining at Setsuna, and amen to that.

well this explains why cataran had mobile suits, they were all ancient obsolete models, no way they could win against those Aheads(very funny name for a terrifying model), and saji feels responsible for what happened.
and only at the end do we find out why it was called "buring homeland", that terrorist dude is back, but how did he know what setsuna said? did he just think someone would say something like that

At first I thought that this episode was just a dull one where didn't happened much, but when Saji Federation, it took a exciting turn of events and ended in a good exciting epsiode.

Revive Revival? Bring? Ribbons? WTH is up with the Innovators' names?

Saji has always annoyed me, but now I downright hate him. And why is Ali still alive? That guy NEVER seems to die.

Oh, and it's great to see Tieria attempting to joke around.

I know he's a heartless monster but still, I let out a small cheer when the glory that is Ali Al-Saachez showed up at the end doing what he does best: genocide.

Well, except for Saji. He's annoying, but geezer's points are just unquestionable.

Ah.
I love when the characters who have depth to them go un loved.
It's funny that they are the same people who throw out the gay jokes at our beloved Tieria instead of going.

My hate for Saji has grown considerably larger than before.
Like seriously, he is the most useless character in the series. He can't even be compared to an toilet bowl. At least toilets can take shit and not complain about it.

He should grow some balls and get punched in the face or something. Anything that would sort his dumb brain out.

Really, I don't care at all if he decides to join the A-LAWS or even become an middle eastern man whore, just get your shit sorted man, you had 5 episodes to do that, but you still continue to bitch about everything.

Rant done. Btw, series is going pretty great so far, def getting me hooked.

Oh no! I think I'm starting to like this Peries... Why can't she just leave A-Laws and join Celestial Being? If everything will be like that, I feel like she won't made it to the end...
No comments on Saji, I lost any hopes for him long ago, when he left Louise alone.

It had to take something extreme for Saji to really see what's exactly going on. He needed to see that.

i agree, Saji was just thinking for him self thinking anyone who's involved with the gundams are evi, but now that hes seen what the A laws have done because of him, im sure he'll open his eyes more, but dont get me wrong hes still an annoying lil ass

This episode was just plain stupid. I don't know what having robots do your killing for you somehow causes it to be so morally wrong. That base was a fortress. I'm sure it would cost hundreds of lives to take it and I imagine Catheron would fight to the death so the result would be the same.

What pissed me off the most was the fact that Catheron would have children in their military base. While A-Laws have done many morally reprehensible things, attacking this base was not. The base was a legitimate military target filled with enemy combatants in an isolated place far away from other civilians. I imagine Catheron could set up orphanages that are away from their military bases.

Saji needs to wake up. The world does not revolve around you my friend, stop whining and join Celestial Being like you are supposed to already.

Looks like not all Katalon forces were destroyed though, I just hope the kids are alright. Azadistan... it was inevitable, there's no such thing as "peace" in the middle east.

Let's see if Saiji wakes up from his childish naivete now.

I wonder why CB and Kataron don't use the media more to exhibit what the A-Laws are like? The first season showed the possibilities of using the media rather well.

Sergei is a cool guy adopting Soma. I wonder what his son will think about that though?

This episode increased my respect for Sergei immensely. I mean, I already liked him before, but now he's simply awesome. He's just a really respectable dude, just like most of the "antagonists" of season 1 were. Same with Soma, though to a lesser extent. It's cool to see her getting some development now.

This new season is introducing some really scummy characters, and I'm not sure if I like that. It seemed better when the fights between the Gundams and the Union/AEU/HRL didn't appear like a fight of objective good and evil, but rather like a clash of two opposing forces where no one could say which one was truly just.

Hopefully Saji joins CB after seeing the ruthlessness A-LAWS is capable of. How amazing would it be to see Saji and Louise working on opposite sides and ultimately fighting each other? Bloody amazing, that's how amazing.

Saji finally understands the horror of the current government...at the expense of Katharon. Yes, it's true that this is the result of CB's actions, but that's like saying the only result of a revolution or a reformation is bad. The result didn't have to be this way. Perhaps Saji will stop hating CB now. What Setsuna said to Saji before was really important. That just because Saji lived in peace, removed from war and conflict, doesn't mean that the world didn't need change, even if that change comes from more conflict.

Anyways, seems like Soma and Graham disagree with the automaton usage. Which is a good thing, at least in Soma's case, towards a future where Soma and Allelujah could reunite.

It's insane seeing how quickly Saji's little desert drive snowballed into absolute trauma fuel. Imagine the reactions to him explaining the events from his POV.

Just as I was imagining how Setsuna going ballistic if he were back with the squad, Al-sanchez decides to make it happen anyway.

a wonderful, tragic episode, Just the thought of the children killed by the automatons make me angry.
I think this will be the turning point of the character of saji, maybe now he will open his eyes and see the reality clearly, he doesn't deserve hate, he was just naive.
I love how Soma is strarting to distrust the federation and embrace her emotions, i hope she joins CB with Sergei, i like them.
Please i can't stand watching Ali for another season, i hate him even more now after he completely destroyed Azadistan, he is inhuman.
