"The story centers around Amaya, Iwasawa, and Uehara—three "annoying, spirited high school girls-" and that's where I stopped.

No thx.

It seems this show will be only ~3mins long(from what I could find).

Kinda disappointing, once again a show I was interested in turned out to be a short. Yama no susume in winter, and now this show in Spring.
Senyuu and Yama no susume showed us how great shorts can be(senyuu being the 2nd best show this winter), but full length will always be better.

What were you able to find?
The official anime website here
http://ch.nicovideo.jp/aiura
It is 5-min per episode. Tue 0135-0140 TV Tokyo

While I agree that Yama no Susume breaks new ground on what short anime can achieve, I also dropped Senyuu after 2 episodes (which happened to be the only anime I dropped out of the 28 shows I was following this winter season) so I guess to each his own.

As much as I love character slice-of-life comedy manga, I have tried Aiura and found it not to my taste, but I guess I'd still give the anime a chance to see how it works in anime format.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

On countdown.mandragon.info, I'm not sure what sources they use, but it has a 5min timeslot according to it.

But it seems a more official source confirmed it.

What source is more official than the official site of the anime?

I was saying the site you listed is the 'official' source.

Now that I look back on it, I worded it rather strangely, but you get my point.

Hmm...from how the post is written and how my post is quoted it certainly does not read that way. I guess only with combination to the first part of the post addressing you can I read the way you suggested above. Anyway, sounds clear to me now.

I must say this is unoriginal to say the least.

No more K-On archetypal anime please!

It's so hard to be condemnatory! ;-;

I wonder how you can the K-On link. If you want to condemn every anime that looks remotely like K-On, you just might as well condemn the whole slice-of-life genre or 4-koma manga adaptations.

>implying all SOL works are like K-On.
Anyhow, I didn't mean to take that literally, I just don't want a bunch of K-Ons popping out because it's too mainstream/generic to me. Ah, I'm entitled!

That's kinda what your initial comment sounded like though. The Aiura synopsis we have so far is rather thin - there's nothing in there that uniquely ties it to K-ON! over anything else. It's so vague that it could describe any slice of life (or iyashikei or kuukikei or whatever) -type anime with high school girls. All across the spectrum from Sketchbook to Kill Me Baby, and many others, many of which came out before K-ON!.

Tried not to, oh well, my bad.
I'm actually big on SOL just not necessarily K-On and its similarities (it's the "premier" SOL to most peeps).
