I have two

1. When you answer a question with "Hai, Hai" so they just stand there dumbstruck since I didn't even notice what I said so I was like what.

2. You spend more cash at a convention then what you had on you I brought 170$ dollars to the convention to spend and I used 250$, I didn't take any out of my account or borrow so "Go Me"

You know you're an otaku when common words become associated with anime titles. For example, you begin to associate diving with Ghost in the Shell and the act of plunging into external memories/networks/cyberbrains rather than water.

You know you're an otaku when the main reason for visiting a friend's house is to get anime from him.

You know you're an otaku when your personal record is watching 50 episodes of anime or more in a single day.

You know you're an otaku when you want to carve the name of your favorite anime on your computer, desk, door, or, in extreme cases, your skin(ie. get a tattoo)

You know you're an otaku when you start thinking what animes you'd first show to your children if you ever got any.

And you know you're an otaku when you keep a list of what anime and manga you've seen before you even find this site... and then try to meticulously copy everything on the site :s and then you keep two lists!!! and and you have like five backups of that list cause it's one of your greatest "proof of otakunezz" things!! @_@

You know that you are an otaku when you join this site and spend the next 4 to 5 hours adding and rating every anime that you have seen. Also when you are done, you notice that the time is 4:30 a.m and you have to be up for work in an hour and a half.
Watch first, decide later!

Actually, I did just say one more episode about 25 minutes ago (for a total of 2 episodes), but I am going to sleep very soon, since I have my first day of classes after winter break later today starting at 9:00 AM. Even though I love anime, I need a lot of z's. ^_^

Also, I do have a 4 or 5-foot long study pillow that I use most frequently in my bed. I hug it, and it helps me fall asleep. It isn't anime or manga-themed, though - it is a multi-colored (but not tie-died) pillow with a blue pillow cover. One of my anime club friends probably has at least one of those anime pillows though, especially since he has a few hundred tapes of VHS fansubs.

You know you're an Otaku when you go to the store, stock up on snacks and soda, rush home, start watching an anime series, getting up only to change disks, and when you're done you go to relieve yourself and are somewhat shocked when you see yourself in the mirror and you have bags under your eyes to rival L's, it takes about half an hour to get done relieving yourself, you look at the calender and see that it's four days from when you started watching.

You know you're an otaku when:
- you tend to shun people that don't know what it is
- you are more likely to remember names if they're of anime characters then of real people
- you HATE dubs with all your heart and otaku pride and shun em as if your life depends on it
- you are constantly focussed on anime related things (for example what happened a couple of days ago was that i found a necklace in a shop with the words lucky star on it.. and i just had to get it even if it wasn't even related to the show in any other way than those words...money gone, random "accidental cosplay item" GETO!!)

I can add : TRUE and more than that:
When you study, Japanese names are easy to memorise for you ( I mean scientists, great people, etc etc) (proved during exams, but dangerous since you can answer an other name that is in the same anime ! Try to explain to the teacher they were kind of related...)
