Nice job on learning more Japanese while being paid ;)
The Japanese community in Toronto is not that big and their special events just are celebrated in a very modest way. Chinese festivals however overshadow any other festival of their kind.
I'm kind of really busy these days with my jobs and my life in general. My library job is still amazing and I'm really enjoying the books I'm reading. As a result I don't get to watch as many anime episodes as I used to but it's all good!
I hope you get to try kendo in September. It must feel really good to scream Men or Dou as they did in bamboo blade!
When is/was the Matsuri festival by the way?

Hi there,
How's the summer job going?
By the way where did you find the second episode of Haruhi? Is it subbed?

I'm OK thanks for asking. I've been busy with work and reading most of the time. I've started reading "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". It's a huge book with almost 1400 pages. I'm also reading "Getting stoned with Savages".
I wish you good luck at your summer job.

Happy summer break!
Well it's traditional not to use tea bags in most of Asia not only eastern parts of Asia but also western parts such as middle eastern countries don't use tea bags that often ;) I grew up drinking tea like that :p I'm glad you're enjoying your summer time.
You're like me. Whenever I go to Chinatown or T&T I end up buying lots of grocery. My favorites are Manjo or steamed buns and dumplings.
My brother's friend had a Shinai. They're cool. Whenever I see one, ever since I've watched Bamboo Blade, I remember Tamaki screaming "Men!"

Sorry to hear that. Hope that the rest of your exams go better.
I'd love to learn more of mahjong. I've only played it on my computer and not in the real world. Unfortunately I don't have anyone interested in Mahjong or board games around me now. My friends are more interested in playing poker so if we decide to play a game we always play poker. I also love backgammon and chess.
Speaking of board games and all, I just remembered Kaiji. I know that you've watched Akagi. Kaiji has the same style of art but has a more interesting story. It's about different gambling games. It's full of cliffhangers unlike Akagi.

I've heard about Bones but I haven't watched any of it yet. The only TV series I'm hooked on now are "House m.d" and "The Tudors". Both are really good in my opinion.
I agree that watching movies, TV shows and such can really help you in learning a new language. I learned almost %60 of my English from watching movies and animations. It's been only 3 years I've been living in Canada. So I have no idea about the high school system here. We learn Arabic and some English in our high schools in Iran (that's where I'm from). My native language obviously is Farsi/Persian. The interesting thing is that Arabic has the same kind of grammar as French. They also have gender for different nouns and verbs. It makes it hard to learn but I find it interesting. However, Arabic has more fixed rules in comparison to French. It's much easier to recognize the female nouns from male nouns and same goes for verbs.
As for the job, yeah I'm really enjoying my time there. Most of the time I'm either reading a book or fixing computer problems that students might have. It's easy and fun. I have nothing to complain about. I'm not sure if I can call myself a bookworm! I do enjoy reading good books but at the same time (whenever I'm not at work) I'm hanging out with my friends, having parties and etc. To me bookworms are those who spend a great deal of their free time just reading specially the ones who are always studying. I'm not one of them although I keep my grades high.

I've heard people say that about "Hachi" but unfortunately I know a girl like her and I know that she's not the only one like that! It's sad to see how stupidly they can get themselves into trouble but on the other hand I feel that they bring all those miseries to themselves so they can't blame others for their misfortune.
H & C gotta be my all time favorite but I truly fell in love with it after 12th episode. As the story develops it gets better and better but I've known people who can't really get into it because of the pure Slice of Life approach. H&C is purely, in any aspect, a slice of life anime with the normal pace of a normal college life at the begining and I loved it for that. The romance side of it gets stronger as the show goes on and the second season is more of a romance anime than a slice of life in my opinion but at that point with all the characters being well developed in the frist season, I really enjoyed it.

Nana is a very good romance anime in my opinion. There's only one issue that bothers me and it's the fact that the anime finishes somewhere in the middle of the manga's story and I'm still waiting for the rest of it to be animated (fingers crossed)!
As for the characters, I should say that there are many girls like both Nana characters. That's what makes the series good. Characters are really believable and all of them are well developed in my opinion. Once you're done watching the anime you've gotta start reading the manga from the point the anime finishes.
How many episodes of it have you watched so far?
BTW I saw that you're watching Honey and Clover! How do you like it so far?

Congratz! Good to know that you've got the type of job you were looking for. I wish you best of luck with the job. I've got another job at my university's library. It's an easy job and I get to read a lot while being paid which is amazing!

Martial arts like Judo and Karate seem to be fun to practice but never seem to be fun to watch (at least to me). I usually enjoy speedy sports and racing. I've never known myself enjoying sports that kind of resemble fighting (i.e. Boxing, wrestling, Karate and etc.) My brother however used to practice Karate when he was younger.
BTW do you recommend Kanon? Is it like Clannad? I'm looking for a nice slice of life anime with some romance but I'm not looking for a tearjerker series. Any suggestions?

Having an office job definitely has its own advantages! I wish you good luck finding the best job possible for you!
Wow, swimming is one of my most favorite sports. I'm not an amazing swimmer but I do enjoy it! I play soccer though. I think I'm pretty good at it. I also ride my bike. As for tennis I should say that I really enjoy watching tennis but I've never given it a try. How good are you at tennis? Is it hard to learn?

Hahaha, sounds to be fun! I've once worked with elementary school kids in a Science and Engineering event. I find dealing with/ taking care of kids needs too much effort and it makes me exhausted whenever I'm around them but it's fun to watch them play and enjoying their life at the same time!

Yes we live on the same time zone. Well I usually work till 1:00 A.M and sometimes 2:00 A.M at my part time job. And when I get home I have to study or finish a project/assignment usually. I get online when I take a break from studying. I usually sleep @ around 4 A.M , that's why you see me online at unusual hours.
As for the university , I had my last exam last Friday and I'll be having the whole summer off from school (I need to work more)! Do you have any special plans for summer?
