It was much more entertaining before Owl came along. I completely agree with you. For a 12 episode series, the main cast has gotten way too big... the story is jumping around so frequently between so many Deadmen that Ganta's own story has been pretty much left to rot. Not to mention the other characters with, for the most part, their one and a half episode main focus (Mockingbird, Hummingbird, Crow, Owl, Yoh... speaking of which, whatever happened to him?, the promoter, the prison guards) are just sort of shells of very slightly developed characters that are being forced to take the main stage along with Ganta (honestly, if someone missed the beginning episodes and only saw the most recent ones, some people might be pretty hard-pressed to tell you who the lead character is). If there isn't a second season of Deadman Wonderland, it will be a disaster. Other than the beginning episodes in which Ganta's classmates are killed, he is falsley imprisoned at Deadman Wonderland. reunites with Shiro, and vows to kill the "Red Man", there has really been no continuous plot. Instead it's been a bunch of disconnected mini-arcs that each introduce a new character (Ganta's arrival at Deadman Wonderland and meeting Shiro again; Yoh spying on Ganta; the journey to find D-Block; Ganta's meets crow, then is forced to fight him; Ganta meets Hummingbird, then is forced to fight her; Ganta meets Owl & Company and becomes the world's biggest tag-a-long; Ganta and Shiro both meeting Mockingbird). I'm sorry, but where is the story? All I see so far is an introduction that APPEARS to be setting up for a longer, honest-to-god storyline by introducing the backdrop of the show (Deadman Wonderland) and its cast of characters. I can't see ANY possible way for approximately 22 minutes to resolve Owl going bonkers and either be killed or cured, reveal Shiro's true identity and show Ganta's reaction to this information, reveal the details of Ganta's childhood with Shiro and his parents' original jobs, and then not only reach a plausible conclusion for Ganta but all the other characters as well (why introduce them in such depth if they will just get ignored in the end?) If they REALLY wanted to make Deadman Wonderland in just 12 episodes, the focus should have been on Ganta searching for the Red Man while developing his relationship with Shiro and other prisoners/prison staff/Deadmen should have been relegated further into the background. |

Cursed air resistance, I am confused and perplexed as to how it doth function. And they've only got one episode left to wrap this clusterfuck up. This has the same "so bad that it's good"-value as Freezing past season did. Terrible to watch at it's best, good entertainment at it's worst. Still contemplating whether to give a 4 or a 5, guess the ending gets to decide. |

Exactly that's the problem of this anime being 12 eps , this will just end in an arc ending , wich leads to the main story that start right after this arc... this is just an introduction sadly. |

| Awww I'm gonna miss the ending it's just so full of hope <3 I hope Shiro will save the day!! Minatsuki is also pretty cool. But yeah i'm a little bit disappointed of Ganta being saved again :/ Ok I have the bad feeling that last ep will suck or will be rushed D: |

Crow isn't a bad teacher. He had the right idea and knew exactly what Ganta's weakness was & how to conquer it. The rest of the episode went by quickly, but still felt like a lot of crying and screaming. Now I just want someone to put Owl out of his misery. |

| Now that was pretty awesome. No rape = good episode. But, sometimes it goes both ways. *No troll face*. Either way, good episode. I don't see where the ending comes into place, though. Anxious to see how it ends. Looking forward to the next! |

| woah crazy ass episode there then!!! 1) Ganta is still shit, he nearly died AGAIN until whats her name saved him, humming bird I believe? Also he needs weaker and smaller bullets/ becoming anaemic to get a supersonic effect with his blood?! wtf?! that made no sense to me 2) OMG Shiro getting drunk was quite hilarious xD but then it all got wiped away when that bitch loli swiped her feet grrrr.. i was actually raging at that part! 3) wow owl just went ape-shit killing everything, believing a lie to keep sane, thats gotta be rough! But I thought that scene was well done, and you could see his sadness/rage! Looking forward to seeing the end now! |
