| Tokyo Electric Power Company has announced to conduct a scheduled power outage in the capital region of Japan from March 14th to cope with the power plant failures by the earthquake. The power supply will be cut off for three hours a day and the outage will be carried out everyday by the end of April. According to the tweet of anime writer Morita Shigeru, anime production studios located in the region will be severely affected. Mangaka Akamatsu Ken said it will be difficult to maintain the weekly serialization of manga. Strangely enough, the primary production studios for my top-priority spring anime (Kaiji 2 and [C]) aren't affected by this (not by too much anyway, outsourcing production to those studios as anime producers do may affect them), nor are A-1 productions with Fractale and AnoHana. |

I posted that just from looking at the list of studios without really thinking about the personal impact the quake would have had on the production staff. Hopefully Japan can get back to normal ASAP, seeing as anime is probably the last thing that even die-hard otaku and hikikomori are thinking of right now. Aren't all animators underpaid though, regardless of the company they work for? Even so, my comments were a bit harsh and they will be able to fix any errors in the Blu-ray release like SHAFT always do, so it's not really a problem all things considered. I'm also going to agree with TreF for once and say that those trolling comments by seishi-sama are out of place right now, to say the least. Sure, Fractale 07 was approaching Meguca levels of off-key character modelling (08 was better), but this is not the time or the place to discuss that. |

For me, SHAFT is pretty much my #1 studio, so any projects of theirs affect me. And this goes for other studios whose shows I watch as well, like J.C. Staff, DEEN and others. But, as bad as it is, at least it will give me some time to catch up on episodes of other shows I postponed due to lack of time. And besides, it could be worse, the affected area could've faced a total blackout for weeks or more. This is probably the best solution to cope with the major issues until a permanent one is found. |

| Its amazing the difference in peoples reactions when they aren't anonymous. On /a/, all anyone seems to care about is if anime will be delayed, with little care for Japan itself. But here, you have to be more accountable since you're posting with a name. I'm sure theres quite a few people in this topic that actually do only care about their anime, but make the politically correct post. |
