This can't be helped, it's understandable in every way, after that massive earthquake and tsunamis... I just hope that the casualties are minimum.

I'm with H3ctor and SatoriTokku on this. As long as they can stay alive, that's all that matters. I don't really mind delays personally. I think new animes and mangas from those companies should be the last thing that people should talk about because of the earthquake/tsunami incident.

its very sad, but very understandable, after the ordeal japan has gone through, and ones that are yet to come in order to repair the damage done.

Unfortunately, some of the damage cause by the earthquake will be unrepairable no matter how much work is put into it....

and so i'm sure i speak for everyone when i say this; R.I.P for the people that have lost their lives and god speed to those who have lost people that are important to them :( :( :(

Damn, missing some animes which I usually watch on Sundays, however, anime ain't so important! Saving lives and rebuilding Japan comes first! R.I.P. to those who have lost their lives, and even though I ain't christian, I give you Japanese my blessings!

Do I smell an anime about the tsunami?

This was not the only thing affected by this as well, Square Enix has shut down servers for both Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV as well for at least a week.

My thoughts are with those during this difficult time.

Nooo, not SHAFT. I want more Madoka Magica, not "Meduka Meguca". I could care less about them once Madoka finishes, though.

Strangely enough, the primary production studios for my top-priority spring anime (Kaiji 2 and [C]) aren't affected by this (not by too much anyway, outsourcing production to those studios as anime producers do may affect them), nor are A-1 productions with Fractale and AnoHana.

It really sucks that these studios will be affected because they're also losing money with this one. The most important thing is that they're safe, though. Any kind of economical can be recovered later.

Anime can wait as long as it needs to. I'm happy that they're doing everything they can to help restore the country to what it was before all of that damage was caused.

Seeing the animation "quality" of the latest A-1 shows, I bet they're just going to copypasta everything from the work already done and feel absolutely no shame about that.

I can live without Dragon Crisis and Madoka Magica, I'm more concerned about the 2 things:

1. Recovery

2. Restoration of nuclear power (if those meltdown, I won't forgive myself)

Nintendo of Japan made it through completely no damage, no death.

But they have their own problems getting locked out of the office and all, heh.

But as for SHAFT, that's an awful thing to say bro... they're already underpaid and understaffed and they still manage to wow us with things like Madoka. They deserve more respect than that...

3 hours for every day until april..... i bet we will still get anime. japan is one of the countries that are most prepared for natural disasters and building back from them, and anime companies mean jobs. you can't just stop now, because stopping the economy during a natural disaster is the dumbest thing you can do. it might be delayed or something though, since 3 hours a day of power cut would mean much slower work. and morita shigeru? why is he the example they use, that dude sucks ass

Sorry.

I posted that just from looking at the list of studios without really thinking about the personal impact the quake would have had on the production staff. Hopefully Japan can get back to normal ASAP, seeing as anime is probably the last thing that even die-hard otaku and hikikomori are thinking of right now.

Aren't all animators underpaid though, regardless of the company they work for? Even so, my comments were a bit harsh and they will be able to fix any errors in the Blu-ray release like SHAFT always do, so it's not really a problem all things considered.

I'm also going to agree with TreF for once and say that those trolling comments by seishi-sama are out of place right now, to say the least. Sure, Fractale 07 was approaching Meguca levels of off-key character modelling (08 was better), but this is not the time or the place to discuss that.

For me, SHAFT is pretty much my #1 studio, so any projects of theirs affect me. And this goes for other studios whose shows I watch as well, like J.C. Staff, DEEN and others.

But, as bad as it is, at least it will give me some time to catch up on episodes of other shows I postponed due to lack of time.

And besides, it could be worse, the affected area could've faced a total blackout for weeks or more. This is probably the best solution to cope with the major issues until a permanent one is found.

Its amazing the difference in peoples reactions when they aren't anonymous. On /a/, all anyone seems to care about is if anime will be delayed, with little care for Japan itself. But here, you have to be more accountable since you're posting with a name. I'm sure theres quite a few people in this topic that actually do only care about their anime, but make the politically correct post.

Right now we just need to pray for them and hope for the best.
