I also tried disabling the "save password" and restarting MALU to make sure the old, now outdated, password is not used... but to no avail... I'm out of clues what could be the reason, to be honest. |

MALU simply ignored (trimmed) it as if it didn't exist - that's why I couldn't log in with it via MALU. So the "password change" form does not have a field validation feature like the password form when you sign up. This's why I was able to change the password to the one with an illegal character. |

| Kotori, let's just say it's a common but not an alphanumeric character. The MAL website allowed me to use it for password change and further logins, but it didn't allow me to use it for password when I tried to register a new user. I.e. let's say my original password was, for example, 1234. I then changed it to 123$. As it turned out, $ is a prohibited character for passwords (is not accepted for new users). However MAL doesn't check for it when you change your passwords. Furthermore, it works perfectly after the change, i.e. asks for 123$ to log in and accepts it as a proper password. However, MALU wouldn't log in with 123$ I then changed my MAL password again, this time to 123. Immediately after MALU logged successfully even though it still had 123$ stored in its preferences. That's how I concluded that MALU simply trims out the invalid characters from the password field. And that's the reason why I couldn't log in with 123$ - MALU sent 123 instead of 123$ to the server. |
| I stated my problem something like 9 months ago and still can't use MALU ;_; If you are willing to look into it (again) I'd like to state it once more: On startup I get:  On shutdown I get:  And whenever I try to connect I get a Network Error...Back in March we tried something with Logs to analyze the problem with you stating "That's weird". Ping to http://www.malupdater.com is still absolutely fine (IP: [209.217.243.131]) I remembered the whole thing because I stumbled upon "Taiga" yesterday, tried it out and...it worked flawlessly. I would still very much prefer MALU over Taiga if I have a say in the matter, but for now it doesn't really look like that... I am aware that you have a life to live and probably something better to do than helping some annoying pests like me on the internet but...but...*doggyeyes* |

| Hm well we can try again, we didn't solve it back then? What's the error message/number? does it happen on the "checking service" or "Logging in" stage? Taiga doesn't use any mal features outside the API afaik, so it doesn't need to go through any of the 302 rerouting issues, cookies, etc. With the API it's a simple call to check if user/pass is correct. This will be different in next 3.x malu version as I'll try to separate the non-api calls to be used only when needed, and continue operating normally under such errors. |
| As for the autorun errors, it may be due to UAC restrictions or some other "defense" apps interfering when malu tries to write in the registry to set the config. What antivirus or similar apps do you have installed? |

| New magnet links won't download. They just stay in my uTorrent 3.1 client as 'magnet ([number/ letter combo])' with 0 seeds and 0 peers. Set MALU to automatically put them in a global download folder and have it auto download them. Tried it with a few but I get the same result. Could download the same torrents by downloading them from Nyaa no problem. The torrents that I tried were: [UTW-Mazui]_Kill_Me_Baby_-_03_[h264-720p][6DDE5ACE].mkv (Auto-download) [GetWet] Senki Zesshou Symphogear - 03 [10bit][0B9AF94B].mkv (Auto-download) [Shikkaku]_High_School_DxD_03_[1280x720][AAC][52DB5441].mkv [WhyNot] Mouretsu Space Pirates - 03 [CECB9816].mkv All of these were in the Torrents Plugin list at the time of writing. The last two were the ones that I added from the Torrents plugin manually. I tried deleting then adding them again a few times. Can anyone help? |

Left mine for about 30 mins and nothing. The ones that i had to auto-download I gave up and downloaded manually from Nyaa. | Must be a uTorrent hiccup. MALU Auto-downloaded 'Bleach - 238 {C_P}.avi' and changed from the letter/number combo to the torrent name and began to download no problem. The other two are still not working. |

| It may be still possible to continue to use magnet links, but to fix this problem, you'll probably have to pull the tracker link from the tokyo toshokan details page, and append it to the magnet link with tr=http://example.com/announce. I don't know how feasible it would be for you to do this. |
| I discovered my problem after reading the post above about not having a tracker. I had to disable DHT as it was overloading my router and I was only using the Peer Exchange which was not getting any seed/peer info. Enabled DHT for the two torrents that weren't working and they began to download. Router kept dying though :| |

| Latest build of Media Player Classic - Home Cinema isn't recognized apparently. I have it selected as the only media player to use, but if I click "Play Next Episode", for example, it wont play the next episode. I assume it's something on my end, seeing as no one else is posting about it. |

| Every time I open up the season browser MALu crashes. Just for some additional information, my MALu is up to date and my computer is connected to the internet. I use a Windows 7 and other than the season browser, everything else works fine. |

| Dunno if this is a bug but for example if I search for Mirai Nikki by klicking on the "T" in MALU, it doesn't find anything. However, if I go on page by myself and search for Mirai Nikki, it shows episodes. Also for Shakugan No Shana (as a further example). Searching by myself, it lists much more episodes than searching with MALU. |

| Thought so. Any way to avoid this? Just to search without what's written in brackets. BRS has even the same problem. And I suppose that's why it doesn't find that much Shana as well. |

| Ou ^^ nice to know :) But it only works for Mirai Nikki, but there are no results for BRS and Shana (as an example). Can you search with your own parameters? Or could you add this option? That you could an own default value for your search. Would be nice :) But thx for your answer |
