I did hear the roots of Power Rangers were Asian so you're probably right. And yeah I might try it sometime, but these kids . . . they'll just make fun of the characters on screen.
This is true for most Ultraman series ( Especially Neos but this was supposed to be a parody but still ), Nexus is different. It's really hard to explain it, you have to see it yourself.
If the guys in suits is the issue, you should show them Ultraseven X. This one has a more serious tone to it compared to other series. At times there's a few comedy parts though. Also, one of my friends played one of the lead female characters.
You seem like a huge fan, so I'll take your word for it ^_^ Still sounds complicated though lol. You're the only person I've met who's ever talked about this anime. Must be really underated.

I think cartoons today are even less for kids than they were back in the 90's. I mean look at Regular Show where they say mild swear words now like nothing. Then again, I don't know how 90's you wanna go. Ren and Stimpy comes to mind.

Ren and Stimpy was the gutter of 90s cartoons same with rocko's modern life. I'd even throw in courage the cowardly dog in there too. Almost every mid 90's to early 2000 show had all kinds of jelly and jam that I never even realized was there. Usually things like innuendos.

Yu Gi Oh is probably the best way to go.

I watched G-Gundam when I was around that age, but it "might" be too violent. They're fighting in mobile suits though.

I'v seen a few videos on Youtube calling out these innuendos. The ones of for the Disney movies are the best, but I remember seeing one for Powerpuff Girls and Ed Ed'n Eddy that were pretty neat as well.

And Courage the Cowardly Dog was my life back in the day.

Well, as a pretty young kid I would watch stuff like Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, DBZ, and Sailor Moon on TV. I'm not sure how a super conservative mother would think, though.

The Ultraman franchise as a whole is really popular in Japan. Ultraman isn't really popular in the United States though but if I'm correct, there was one cartoon of it called " ULTRAMAN U.S.A" and a live action series called "Ultraman Powered". The Ultraman franchise is slowly gaining popularity in America with movies like Pacific Rim ( This was inspired by a really old show called Jumborg Ace which was a spin off show of Ultraman ), The American Godzilla franchise and a bunch of other kaiju and Tokusatsu movies.

Think like:
Pokemon=Trying to convert your kid to satan
Yugioh=Promoting rebelious way of dressing
DBZ=Too high standards for men
Sailor Moon=SEXIST AS FUK

All those have a bit too many episodes though.

There is an anime for everyone out there, that's why I love the medium so much.

Good shows for kids from my list would be:
- One Piece
- Fairy Tail (except if you're a prude and you want your kid to become one as well)
- Dragon Ball
- Pokemon
- Digimon
- Yu-Gi-Oh!
- Sailor Moon
- Rock Man
Most are pretty long and/or old.

There are anime for kids, but they're mostly battle shonen. Parents really shouldn't shelter a kid from all violence in my opinion, watching dragon ball z wont make them a violent criminal in the future

I've watched many action anime and I don't even remember if I ever punched someone seriously.

Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach, and so on while have many violence, I think it's still appropriate for kids. The story is simple and there are moral values to be learned from the story. The actions are mere entertainment. Those mothers are just over-acting just like girls in general.
