I don't know how to explain this but, it's just that I'm an emotional person sometimes. I mean do you know what's funny?

when it comes to anime I got pretty sensitive like Guilty Crown, Valvrave, Attack On titan, Psycho-Pass & Suisei No Gargantia, Sword Art online (I don't care NO matter how good/bad these show was as what people said), It really triggers me an emotional response a lot & 'explodes' in my head/heart because that shit was totally bananas (batshit insane).

I cried no, get angry while watching anime... when people died, MC got raped by psychotic villains who mostly jerk & going killing spree where people love to hate till it become a personal matter. while others thought it was a laughing matter & take it as an excuses.

How about you guys?

sometimes, yes, i do; only when the story is well done and sob-worthy. if a character did something incredibly stupid and faced the consequences, then no, i don't get emotional but i do question the logic behind the stupidity - which is a reason why i LOVE smart characters, even better when it is the MC, but unfortunately, there aren't many out there. instead, i get all these MCs that base all their actions on feelings rather than justified logic or laws

Yes, although with not the intended emotional reactions. I've laughed considerably more at dramatic scenes than I've ever cried or even felt sad. It's something I've only noticed within the past few years.

...Anime has changed me.

Sometimes, if an anime really resonates with me.

I never cry of course, but I get a little bleary eyed sometimes.

When the anime is good enough I can get very emotional.
Crying is very possible.

I cried rivers watching One Piece so yeah.. attack on titan really didn't affect me much, only first episode and that's it.

Basically I cry over characters I'm attached to, and I only get attached to developed characters, otherwise I really won't care about someone undeveloped who dies.

I usually don't get emotional, but I certainly do get invested. I don't cry very much- if at all - at anything I watch. The only recent exception I can think of is the first episode of Attack on Titan. Otherwise, I did get upset, uncomfortable, and felt emotionally invested in what was going on throughout the rest of the series, but never again to the point of tears.

Even though there's a lack of tears on my end, I still certainly get emotionally invested while I watch anime. My mouth will fly open if something unexpected and shocking happens, for example. Some other examples include: I will sometimes sigh, roll my eyes, wince, cheer, or shake my head depending on whatever is going on during whatever I'm watching.

I usually don't get emotional while watching anime, but if i do then i watched Bruce Willis saying Goodbye in Armageddon, oh wait...... No but seriously it depends on, i can get emotional if the Anime really is Sad or heartwarming. Like Angel Beats, Clannad oder Higurashi.... But i don't remember that i got seriously angry while watching an anime, some characters made me really hate them but angry? nah i don't remember.

Typically no.

But some very good slice of life/romance shows every so often will have scenarios or events that happen with characters that tend to strike home with me because I can relate to them in some way from something in my own life.

You know, the typical "I know that feel".

This pretty much.

Most of the time I don't really feel too much but if an anime has a plot that resonates with me personally I can blubber like a baby...

*See Kanon 2006, EF - A Tale of Melodies, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

It's all good though, it's not a bad thing if a medium can provoke an emotional response.

Yeah, but I think heartwarming and lighthearted moments are much more touching than drama like AnoHana and Clannad. Usually I cry more for the first and laugh for the latter.

Once you've seen the same trope/scene used again and again and again over a decade I think you'll stop getting emotional.

...of course some things never change, or instead just spark unintended reactions.

I only cry for characters i like. And i sometimes get goosepumps while watching epic things.
And when the scene is really well done, i get a heartwarming feeling.
I also feels the same way with movies and books.

I have to admit I do. Up until recently though, I've only gotten bleary/misty-eyed and heartswells from anime, but Kokoro Connect tripped up my flood gate switch and I outright sobbed a whole three times while watching it. Ever since Kokoro Connect I've only watched silly shows, and had to put Air on hold midway through.

Do I get emotional while watching anime, hell yes they do. Sometimes I just really get into a story and really connect with the characters and their sad shit, even some of their happy shit, really gets to me. Never have cried though, felt like I was going to sometimes but never have but neither has any movie or TV show.

It is hard for me to get attached to an anime character somehow.. so I basically never cry in an anime, sometimes I feel a bit happy for a character if the scene is well executed. So that is actually one of the negative features of anime for me.. that is why I never watch a romance in anime because it just does not click for me, especially compared to a "real" tv series.
Plot-wise, action-wise I prefer anime, comedy is more fifty fifty.

I get slightly distraught when an anime ends in general
I'm watching Steins gate for the third time and it will take a wile to get through it
the biggest moment was probably the tragedy in RahXephon after reconnecting with his girlfriend

So yes I do

Of course I get emotional while watching anime. That's the thing I love most about anime. For some reason, it's the entertainment medium that draws out the most emotion from me. It's very rare for me to see an American film or video game that causes me to tear up. However, anime (well, some anime, not all) can cause me to bawl my eyes out. Clannad: After Story, ef-a tale of melodies, Angel Beats, Ano Hana, and Shinsekai Yori are a few that caused me to cry on more than one occasion. Even if we're talking from a happiness standpoint, something like Usagi Drop or Non Non Biyori come to mind.

Lately, I haven't seen a ton of anime that can move me on an emotional level. I think the last anime that made me cry pretty damn hard was Little Busters: Refrain. Other than that? I teared up a bit at Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun S2 and Kamisama Inai Nichiyoubi. Both of which weren't particularly great, but I'd call them pretty good anime. Hakkenden is a funny anime because it's side stories are better than the main narrative.

Anyway, yeah. There's no shame in getting emotional at anime. I don't think the OP's anime listed are particularly emotional (at least to me), but hey, to each their own.

I never cry, but some anime do manage to move me with their strong emotional moments. Of course, if they are boring it wouldn't work, like Clannad and Anohana.

FMA, One Piece and RuroKen had the best emotions so far.

It's kinda weird on me here, if I see a sad part of an anime or even watch a sad anime, I won't even cry, I never even cried watching Anohana.

The only anime that truly got to me was Madoka Magica and The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat

Only if a situation that happens is relatable to something I've in the past underwent or undergo today. But I also have to appreciate the characters in these situations as well, it's rather difficult to do it with everyone, but with those that fit my personality inside, yes.

Hell yes, there's nothing wrong with getting emotional too. Even in a shounen anime if i find a slightly sad backstory of a character, i cry my eyes out.

While the feels are still fresh, I just watched an episode of Natsume Yuujinchou San that nearly moved me to tears. It was simple and beautiful. Part of what makes an anime emotional for me is when I can connect and relate strongly to what's happening or when there's theme, message, or thought that resonates deeply with me. This is what separates anime from most other forms of entertainment for me.
