It's the same VA like in old version. But it doesn't really work well with this modern face-expression Usagi design. Also a little different voice because of years.

I would love if all voice actors were the same. I really miss the VA for Mamoru and Luna. The new ones doesn't fit.

Oh, I know it's her old VA. That's whats bugging me. She aged and she sounds different than what she used to sound like. It's hard to sound all moe at such an old age.

As a new-Sailor-Moon watcher, everyone else's voices fit well.

Believe me some 40 years old seiyuu can sound as young as they used to sound like back in 90's !
To name a few we have :

Mika Kanai
Kumiko Nishihara
Etsuko Kozakura
Kurumi Mamiya
Yuka Imai
Konami Yoshida
Naoko Watanabe
Hiroko Emori

Otherwise than that, I really miss the old cast even though I think Koto-chan should take it easy she still sounds like Sailor Moon ! Her "Hikari no ai no messeji is still the same" !!

biweekly.

It's biweekly because they're also translating the anime into English so that they can air it simultaneously with the Japanese release. I'm pretty understanding with that. Yes, fansubbing groups are able to translate television shows quickly and get them out, but a lot more goes into officially translating.

CGI

A lot of the more recent shojo animes on television today feature a few CGI transformation or attack scenes. Now, I agree with you. I don't like them. I don't think they fit. But they aren't trying to market the television show solely to the shows original fans. They have to aim at people who are relatively new to the franchise, too. Unfortunately, that means using what has been proven to work in some other television shows (e.g. CGI animation). There's only been one episode so it's hard to jump the gun and be too negative yet...

Space dandy was weekly and was translated every week.

3dCGI looks like shit.

Don't make excuses.

Why don't people realize that anime is produced ahead of time?

Not to mention this show was delayed by YEARS and they still cant have it ready on release.

This is biweekly so they can continue to hype and market Sailor Moon Merchandise for 6 extra months.

The only things off-putting are the biweekly releases and the CGI. Hell, I would've taken another delay over biweekly releases. I love Sailor Moon to death, but really, the CGI is almost as bad as the Winx Club CGI.

I bet if they made this a new separate entry like Precure none of you would bitch about this series.

I already explain why i think this is a pretty great adaptation in other threads so i won't need to repost it here. But i guess the nostalgia goggles are blinding you too much.

Lol you think you know better? Please at least they're actually doing something for the franchise and actually following the manga arc compared to the old anime.

I wouldn't be surprise if something like Usagi's clothes being not the same color or dress from the old Anime people would complain and bitch about that small thing.

I really don't get why people still watch something they don't like. I already can tell they're gonna do things differently in future episodes.

If you really don't like what their doing for Crystal then why bother watching it?? No ones forcing you to watch just drop it and stick to the old Anime since it's not like it disappeared or anything.

Why are people always and always complaining about CG?

This is very simple to answer: because they don't like how it looks like. And I'm talking about 3dcgi, not 2dcgi.

"has been proven to work" -> I highly disagree with that- you ALWAYS see fans complaining left and right about 3DCGI simply because it looks awful. Now, the reason why people are able to "deal" with it is because the content is good (like Sidonia no Kishi for example). And with content I mean the story/plot, the characters, the music... you get the idea. It's not like we can do much about it so we just "accept" it.
I also don't think that using the 3DCGI will help in making the anime more accesible to new fans. That really has nothing to do with it at all...
The reason why this will be more accesible is because it follows the manga more closely and will (from the looks of it) have no fillers.

With all that said I can deal with the 3DCGI during the tranformations, I really like how it follows the manga more closely now (I'm watching the original anime adaption as well). I can't really say more because only 2 episodes are out..
the biweekly release sucks, but what can you do...

And haters gonna hate. History repeats itself. I wouldn't say, that the show sucks, but rather the sloppy ways of doing things in it by Toei. Whether it's the CGI, that need much correction and that most people want to have in 2D or the deformed bodies/faces, that let you think the Animation Director and his crew was drunk. Gosh I remember a year ago, when people feared, that Toei would do the transformations exactly like in Precure in 2D. Now everyone, that dislikes the CGI would rather have such a sparkling, full of sugar and pinkness and more sparks animation, than computer edited 3d inflatable dolls. Can't satisfy everyone...

Hey heyhey, I am a Moon-brat and I do miss the lively/gag feeling that is present in both manga and classic series. It's like the animators are investing more that "gushy pretty" energy from the comic into the show. Like the flowing hair and the slender limbs (why are people complaining about that?!), shiny eyes, etc. It was so necessary for some reason because Usagi suffers so much, she has a lack of confidence and her speech is soft.

Everybody is just so...gorgeous. But hey, I can't get enough of Jadiete's puppy face. We're so distracted by the pretty art that it's stiff and we can notice slight errors in the animation.

plus there is censorship.

but I don't get upset that easily. It's only three eps. The wait is ROUGH, but I like to see more. When all five guardians appear, I think I'll see where we really go.

IMO, the weakest part of the show is the biweekly airing dates. Waiting every two weeks to watch an episode, and there is no guarantee that it could be good. Some users give the show 3-5 eps to see if it's worth continuing, which could take 3 weeks or if it's weekly, but with bi-weekly episodes, one would have to wait at most a month of one month and two weeks to make a judgement on the show.

I'm hoping to see the full Sailor girls and other characters get screentime.

seems like Toei poured most of their resorces on the pretty cure series. Sailor moon is on the bottom of their priority list, judging by the animation flaws and only releasing two episodes per month

edit: on a + note, sometimes the animation screw up are so bad, it's funny.

It really is quite sad that the CGI part is the best looking part of the show. What's even more hilarious is that the old TV show looks way better than this, so the whole remake is pointless if they are going to make it look worse.

Haters will be haters forever. But you can't change the fact that many people love Sailor Moon. Neither you can change the fact that it's still very popular these days.
The transformations in the new series are bad but the other things like the CGI is very good. Better than the other high school series nowadays. I think that they are too many animes of the same kind and that sucks.

I agree that I prefer the music of the original anime of 1992. As a true moonie I just hope they make the entire 52 acts of the manga in this new anime and not just the first arc.

Greetings of a true Moonie!!

except Moon's, i like the CGI animation of the others' transformations. Moon got extremely elastic limbs which makes me kind of disappointed. but i'm fine with the others.
but i'm very nitpicking sometimes... what about side views? for instance, in episode 7, Mamoru's face becomes damn weird from side view. irritates me. and what about elastic limbs? of course, it could help to make the animation better, like showing continuity and motions but overall, these slow-moving elastic arms and legs make me cry.
personally, i won't say that "this is sh*t" because i can't. it's not that. but sometimes pisses me off really.

I think that's also the weakest part of the show. I am a die hard Sailor Moon fan so no matter how many times they adapt it. All the adaptations have their strenghts. People should learn to see every show's strenghts instead of weaknesses. I am sure many people will in the future look back at the wonderful adaptation of Crystal. People who complain about animation don't care very much about good plots that's why many new anime don't appeal to me. I've seen too much of the same plots pass every year over and over again. Oh god please stop with these boring plots and make something that will change the world like Sailor Moon or Clannad. I don't want any stupid and superficial plots anymore - mou janai !!!

That's also a reason why I don't like new anime most of the time.

Why is it so popular? Because it basically has no plot.
I was not offending you or something, but I just wanted to make a point that some new animes look like they recycled the same stuff again and again.

That was the only thing I wanted to say. I am sorry if you felt like I offended you.
I was only speaking in general that newer anime have worse plots than old anime have more creative plots.
