- Produced by the same studio - The protagonist vibe is similar: the worrysome dorky muscle-man + weak ironic conman as the brain of the duo - Both are more about the action than the lore, we get thrown into the story and everything is magic in the ways we don't understand at all - In both cases, there's a mystery in the plot and the mystery of the characters/their past - The amount of ironic type of comedy in them is just ugh

Gonna say only one name, Jun Mochizuki. If you liked the atmosphere, sound design, visual design and general feeling, then I believe that this is for you.

Both shows feature a supernatural + human main character duo solving mysteries in late 1800s Europe. Kuroshitsuji takes place in England whereas Vanitas no Karte is in Paris, and Kuroshitsuji focuses on demons whereas Vanitas no Karte focuses on vampires. However, they have a similar narrative style and humor, while still being able to get serious when the time is right. If you enjoyed one, I highly recommend watching the other.

- Similar Victorian-era setting; Vanitas has more steampunk elements - Both have a very strong male and male main leads and their bonds are very strong - Solving mysteries together - Animation and color palette - Whole story really unravels at the end - Has a MC that has a martyr mentality

The setting is Europe in both series with elements of mystery and fantasy. The main characters are looking for something they lost or want and resolve mysteries while getting close to their goal.

Very similar feeling in how story beats go, though the MC of Vanitas no Karte has a more negative personality than Allen of D.Gray-Man.

Both are focused around dark vampire stories and both share very attractive vampires and some dashes of romance here and there since vampires are of course supposed to be sexy and both have a gothic stylization to it as well too.

Both are broody and have moments of somberness to them as well as both having fantasy elements in them and also stylish visuals and art to look at as well too.
report Recommended by Disapeared_Ghost
Both have spunky mcs, supernatural settings as well as quite of bit of action in it as well too and lots of stylish visuals and art as well too.

both being vampire series as well as also stylish animation and also dark visual styles too.

what drew you into Vanitas? if it was: - vampires - bromance - mysterious plot - great animation - fun character chemistry Then what if I told you Owari no Seraph can offer you all this but just a tad shounenified. Thats right, you dont need to starve for anymore vampire bishies that actually have good plot and personalities coughcoughdiabolikloverscough, unless, of course, you've already watched it 0-0

The devils in Fire Force are very similar to the Charlatan in Vanitas. They look similar and have similar attributes. Both have scenarios in the mind where something is trying to control the MC. It's kind of hard to explain some of the connections between these two but if you watch one or the other with the other in mind, it won't be difficult to catch some similarities.

Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus and Vanitas no Karte both have a group of two men investigating the supernatural. Both anime have a similar art style and tone as well. Watch the first 16 episodes of Kuroshitsuji first though!

Both are dark and spooky vampire themed stories with stylish visuals and art too them as well too.

The music, the damn music really. There's also Itamura Tomoyuki but the music in particular. They are both eloquent due to the prestigious use of stellar music. Like really, it is kinda crazy how good music makes an anime.

Both are steampunk adventure anime. Both have Alchemists too.

both are dark supernatural themed series with as well as also both being from the same publisher as well too gangan and also both being set in Europe as well too.

Both have alternate versions of a major city coexisting with their real counterparts, with the alternate versions containing characters of myth, like vampires (Altus Paris) in Vanitas and Dragons (Reverse London) in Burn the Witch.
report Recommended by Uji_Gintoki_Bowl
Both are historical anime set around the same time, but in different parts of the world. Both have vampires and the supernatural as main parts of their worlds. The main characters are two males, one being a vampire, the other being a human. Both have subtle boy-love elements.

It's somehow really similar surprisingly -Vampire & Human Partnership -Both Partners don't get along at the same time they proved to be good chemistry as time passes.

- Both feature vampires as their main focus - Similar directing - Both feature strangely erotic scenes - I'd say Araragi and Vanitas have a similar personality

Both are set in the olden days before technology arrived Both have incredible story telling and animation

Main characters meet mysterious bookkeepers who possess a powerful grimoire (with a similar name of their own) capable of aiding vampires in Vanitas no Carte's case, or could seal away similar powers of its own, such is the case in Dantalian no Shoka. Set in similar time periods with a steampunk feel, the main cast embarks on a journey solving anomalies that appear. Dalian and Vanitas are also very expressive yet troublesome, which allows them to compliment the main characters well. As a plus, both anime share great music which fits the atmosphere superbly.

Very similar to Blue Exorcist in many ways that I will talk about in a sec. but one thing is that this show has the same "vibe" of Blue Exorcist that you will kinda feel while watching it if you ofc. watched and still fully remember the show. So back to the main points, Vanitas no Karte is similar to Blue Exorcist in a many ways (the Blue Exorcist version of the point will be in parenthesis)... The show is about the main character Vanitas who is a special guy with special powers that allows him to use the Book Of Vanitas given to him to  read more

"Vanitas" has action and battle scenes. While "Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc" has better visuals and choreography, "Vanitas" has better dialogue and execution of humor (they have similar styles of comedy).

Is also about vampires but with some bromance as opposed to yuri.

Both series have a wacky cast with non very realistic personalities, but they have serious demeanors when the story requires that, also both series are full involved in drama around their environment, the relationships in both series are kinda similar since they like to play goofy and sexy, but the characters have good and unique stories, even when in the cover it doesn't look like it.

Same seiyuu (Natusuki Hanae), short-haired love interest (Touka-Jeanne), supernatural (ghoul-vampire)

- both MCs are trying to save humanity/society - people mistake their intentions as the cause of their problems, when really they are trying to cure them - tsunderes for days (^///^)

i feel like the have a similar vibe or maybe its just the artstyle

Kekkai Sensen and Vanitas no Karte both involve a character (Leonardo Watch/Noe Archiviste) being brought into a strange and dangerous place (Hellsalem’s Lot/France). Noe and Zapp have a very similar appearance, both anime have a very similar brand of humor, and both are animated by Bones! Sadly, Kekkai Sensen is kinda bogged down by a very weak storyline. If you like Kekkai Sensen, watch Vanitas no Karte. Other way around, it doesn’t work.

Any poor souls who have subjected themselves to something as trivial as Vampire Knight should really invest in watching The Case Study of Vaitas, it has vampires, hot men, and a speck of romance just like vampire knight does but better. The Case study of Vanitas has plot, good characters and decent comedy. The only issue is its not a dramatic love triangle like Vampire knight is but all well. Try it out, I cannot recommend it enough😙🥰

very similar vibes. the aesthetics of both the animes are mid 18th century europe, gorgeous visuals of both the animes, both animes also have quite a similar wardrobe
report Recommended by Humaira_a_weeb
Their vibes are quite similar, both shows are historical stories with some supernatural nature and romance in some points, both use some kind of chibi artstyle for the comic relief, all characters are really attractive, and the main villains are selfish and manipulative dudes with a complex dilemma with our main characters

-Both have an old british vibe -The soundtrack is kinda similar -Both have magic, although vanitas seems to be more focused on vampire where el melloi is towards other magic stuff (other creatures and problems) -Both mc are detectives investigating magical cases

If you enjoyed comedy and light-hearted elements in Vanitas no Carte, Haine will make you laugh and care about the characters. It is a lot more light than Vanitas, but it shares similar animation and art style ♥

Both shows focus on the history and Origins of Vampires and have similar settings. They also have similar vibes and feature great character design.

Similar vibes - Both have a similar setting - Both share strong themes of mystery - Very attractive male characters - Excelent art style and good quality animation - Dark plot points

- both feature duo of a human and immortal creature - world is plagued with creations that want to corrupt people (in shisha case make them zombies) - Its a mystery who is causing the ruckus in town and the duo is going to solve it w/ meeting interesting characters - great animation and character designs - set in 19th century

Fullmetal Alchemist and Case Study of Vanitas have a very similar feel to them. They have a primarily serious plot but sometimes dip into silly/zany territory so it doesn’t feel like it’s taking itself too seriously. They both are fantasy anime that mix supernatural and science together for a unique power. They both also deal with secret evil societies that need infiltrating. Visually, some of the more supernatural villains are even similar.

Have you ever wondered what people's souls look like? Both series show the hidden safe places of people's hearts and the dangers of corrupting said safe spaces. If you like action, dreamlike places and a bit of mystery, you won't regret watching either of these series.

Setting and vibes are similar... plus magic, battles, beasts and a mysterious backstory to be unraveled.

These are both fantasy stories with magic, set in a historical European setting. There's a theatrical and flamboyant air to both works. The animation and musical scores are amazing in both. Vanitas is about Vampires, Howl's Moving Castle about wizards. Both are extremely well done series with deep and interesting characters. Both start out lighthearted and get very dark. If you like one, you'll like the other. I wouldn't be surprised if Vanitas had some inspiration from Howl's Moving Castle.

Both focus around a gothic like setting and story and are focused around the conflict between supernatural characters and their respective factions as well too and both have a good amount of action and hot bishies too.

Hellsing and Vanitas no Karte are both anime about vampires! Both have a similar setting and vibe as well. Both can be pretty bloody as well, more so in Hellsing. Alucard and Seras have a somewhat similar dynamic to Vanitas and Noe. Vanitas no Karte is a much better anime than Hellsing, however. If you like Hellsing, you’ll like Vanitas no Karte. It doesn’t work the other way around, however.

Hellsing Ultimate and Vanitas no Karte both involve vampires in a classic setting, Victorian England in Hellsing Ultimate and 19th century France in Vanitas no Karte! Both have comedy and bloody moments, and the main protagonists’ dynamic is similar as well. Both are worth a watch for sure!

While there isn’t that much shared between Black Cat (TV) and Vanitas no Karte, there’s one thing in common between the two: the dynamic of the main protagonists. The dynamic between Train and Sven in Black Cat (TV) and Vanitas and Noe in Vanitas no Karte are very similar. Sven and Noe also happen to share personalities as well! Well, somewhat. So if you want an anime with a similar character dynamic between Vanitas and Noe, check out Black Cat (TV), it won’t disappoint!

The Case Study of Vanitas and Natsume's Book of Friends are two *very* different anime; they don't even belong in the same genre and there is not an ounce of "iyashikei" (the healing / soothing subgenre) in Vanitas, which is not slice of life either. However they share the same central plot device (minor SPOILER for both anime following): Each anime has an important book and each anime involves the return of names from that book to creatures who lost them. The supernatural creatures of the two anime are different and the circumstances of their name losses also differ, but they both use the same  read more

Blood Lad and Vanitas no Karte both revolve around vampires, and have a similar brand of humor. The stories are very different, but the main characters, Staz and Vanitas, are kinda similar, and both aren’t afraid to switch from light hearted moments to dark moments (more in Vanitas no Karte). Check them out!
