Both of these shows have a similar, highly theatrical and gothic feel, and are set in historical Europe.
While Vanitas is about magic and vampires, Moriarty the Patriot is inspired loosely by the Sherlock Holmes novels and has themes of reform.
Vanitas is a solid show in every area. Moriarty the Patriot's plot isn't the best, but it's an enjoyable show worth watching because of the characters.

Both are settled in a world where sexy vampires exist, also settled in a modern era with similar animation and art style, both protagonists are sexy detectives with harsh chilldhood hiding a lot of mysteries from other people and they aren`t alone when they are going to solve a mystery
