It comes as no surprise that the environment and concept of these two series are analogous to one and another. Having the same protagonist voice actor in these two series undoubtedly strengthens the momentum going forward. 'Sword Art Online' and 'Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka Similar' focus heavily on game systems, leveling and battle strategies. Through layers of boss flooring that increased in difficulty as you progress further which is accompanied by rewards, it is something that is welcomed by fans who has a certain connection with gaming. By all means, the comedy and romance are there to provide joy in  read more

Deities are useless, or at least they are for the main character. One of these series is in fact an Isekai series while the other isn't. The main protagonists deal with a lack of luck, while both end up with a harem of sorts based on the companions which surround them. They also poke fun of the adventuring genre in different ways. Have fun.

* Both are «Kill, or be killed» anime... * Both have RPG elements in them ( swords/magic/classes/monsters) * In both, MC's are living in poverty... * Male leads ( Haruhiro & Bell) are Rogue type fighters using daggers...while being party leaders... * Both of them feels lighthearted at times, also having lots of serious moments... * EPIC endings..

Aside from the obvious MMO-inspired setting, they also share a somewhat earnest realization for what their reasoning for being made was. Where No Game can be seen as self-aware, Danmachi seems to have no pretense to just being escapist, fantasy empowerment. Vivid animation, in-world game stats to move the plot forward and a shameless disregard for fanservice. If a less conceited MMO entry is what you want, then give either of these a try.

Both have a trapped in a game feel to them. However both focus more on the life in the game. While How to Pick Up Girls is not clearely a trapped in a game anime, it sure feels like one. Overlord is a trapped in a game anime. Where both have common ground is that they both accept the world they are in as is and make the most of it and don't treated it like a game.

Similar universe, but Goblin Slayer is more serious and graphic. While Danmachi focus on every single character, GS tries to focus on the protagonist and his story/adventure.

They're not just in the game, their world IS a game. In both series, role-playing game elements are integrated within the world, with Log Horizon being a little different as their so called "real world" is detached and no longer accessible to them. Overall, they're both "fun" shows in general compared to other pretentious shows within the same setting. "Log Horizon" is about adapting and dealing with the intricacies of how the system works as a foundation of the players' new lifestyle. "Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka" is focused around the main character's growth as an adventurer rather than the world itself.  read more

Both main characters start off weak and get stronger progressively through the story. Both shows have a leveling and stat system similar to those of a video game

In both the main character and his team have to win a tower (dungeon) killing monsters and bosses in each level. Also have the same fantasy and RPG elements like magicians, warriors and archers, etc.

The main protagonists of both series discover dealing with the god(s) of their world is no easy feat, yet face different challenges along the way. In addition to this similarity, for some viewers who are drawn to certain looks in characters, the main characters do have similarities in the way they look, although their personalities may be described as a 180 from each other.

The main characters wants to be a hero really bad and they both become heroes in the end.

In terms of the "Fantasy genre", Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? has small similarities to Fairy Tail because of how similar some of the monsters are in the anime and how it takes the notice of "guilds" in this anime.
report Recommended by Calliefornia
Similarity is the system of dungeons and wealth flowing from it. Also for completing a dungeon hero's strength increases (in the "Magi": by getting the genie, and in "Dungeon than Deai ... " by increasing stats) The idea of world is similar, because people find the dungeon for the great earnings and know of dangerous this place.
report Recommended by Xaven
The dungeon world and mechanics behind the leveling system are similar. And, in the same way for DanMachi and Solo Leveling, the main character powerlessness and potential for improvement at the beginning of the series makes you rooting for him and wanting to witness his road to success.

It has the same kind of vibe as miss kobayashi's dragon maid

-Both take place in a similar fantasy setting -Both see the protagonist as a natural born charmer who draws love interests and friends in through their kindness, stubbornness and other personality traits -Both immediately task the main character with some kind of huge, overarching mission which is in the back of the audience's minds but doesn't become the main focus of the show

It gets you into the mode of online gaming. Online gamers can relate.

The economy in Noragami and DanMachi (Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomearu no Wa Machigatteriu Darou Ka) is quite similar in that the Gods from both shows have "teams" or "familias" in which people pray to and fight for them.

If you like Black Clover, you will like DanMachi also, this is why; - "Fantasy World" setting, where the magic and adventures are lit - Both protagonist are "weak" to begin with, but grows stronger by time, both also have some one the look up to - basically "from a zero to hero" - DanMachi also have it's own "harem" and bit of fan service, which make it more fun to watch I think its good to watch DanMachi because soon they will release its 3rd season, if you watch it now, you might finish 1st & 2nd season by the time of 3rd season release.

-Both of these titles include a plot which mainly involves ascending a huge tower to achieve something significant. -The main male protagonists are innocent, cheerful, and sweet but are then made to realize how much power they harbour within themselves. -If you enjoyed one, I highly recommend the other :)

Both involve the Fantasy genre where there are magical creatures and such, also both have one striking similarity and that is both main characters want to become stronger for the sake of a girl that they have a crush on. Another thing is that they are both RPG type of series, so there are some jokes such as status, rank, skill and what not.

--- Portuguese Below --- Both are fantasy stories, focused on Dungeons, with protagonists who would initially be weak but advance over time and with a potential romance with several characters/harem. There is a greater focus on slice of life and comedy in Level 1, while DanMachi has a greater action and adventure aspect with the various battles with a little more depth as well as the mythology of its world, it is much more built with different elements such as the gods and everything. DanMachi clearly has a greater investment than Level 1, although DanMachi is not from a large studio, it still consists of a greater investment  read more

Both give off a similar vibe. Although Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? or Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomery no wa Machigatteiru ... is about someone who is gaining power and doesn't already have it, the plot of both of these is similar. The main hero in both are after a girl. They both have an incredible magical power. Plus both anime have fantastic artwork

Other than having a long title, the two anime share some similarities: -They set in a fantasy world with magic, and various races -The guild system in Mondaiji pretty much works the same as the families in DanMachi -While DanMachi has a dungeon Mondaiji have zones, the concept is the same, the further you are in,the harder it gets. -Have slight ecchi If you liked one, most likely you would enjoy the other show as well!

Both MCs are inspired by strong/confident mentors, starting out weak and becoming strong. These animes are adventure-themed with monsters and team battles.

Maoyuu is who Hestia would be if Hestia was older and a demon instead of a goddess. Both female leads love the male character very much, and both take place in a fantasy world.

Both series takes place in a medieval world with action/fantasy/advendture as themes. Although, Akame ga Kill has more of a serious story approach with a slight of comedy. The art resembles each other and they are both relatively new-released anime series. Both male MC starts of weak, but gets stronger the more they fight and experience. Akame ga Kill is a must-watch if you are to medieval genre and want lesser fanservice. Besides there's more action scenes in Akame. Dungeon (...) is more comedy/romance oriented, but also has fighting scenes.

Protagonists struck me as similar The Plots are completely different but if you enjoy an underdog story that has good action and growth that where the similarities lie. > both Leo and Bell are striving to become stronger in their own way > both have nakama who are supporting them > both consider themselves weak and understand what loss is also both have good quality animation.

The main character wants to get stronger in what he does, and for that he lends the help of his awesome female companion, who secretly loves him even though they know the love is unrequited. This description could work for both.

So there's this one quest the main character must do while protecting and caring for the most wonderful girl in the world. Weak, strong, alone or with friends, our obstinate main character might one day respond the the abundant feeling our favourite loli has to offer.

If you want to watch the anime with a main character who wants to be a hero, you should watch them. Oh and both of main characters have similar personality. It's worth to watch because we can learn from these two main characters to never give up. Well, I can say that bcs both main characters are the loser in the beginning

Fantasy anime similar to RPGs. A young boy from humble beginnings face a decision making choice where he becomes an adventurer and set out to defeat monsters and level up to become the best of the best. If you're a fan of dungeon crawling RPGs, you might enjoy the other, although Beet the Vandel Buster is kinda childish and DanMachi has a lot of ecchi scenes

Both anime give you the same aura -a boy who wants to be stonger, has excellent potential, willing to help his new family and a loli girl that is crazy in love with him in their imaginary relationship in her head. If you enjoyed DanMachi you will really like Black Bullet, as well.

They have the same animation studio, and follow a young boy (Sorata/Bell) who ends up falling in love with a blonde, highly talented girl who doesn't show much emotion but is very kind-hearted (Mashiro/Aiz), and want nothing more than to stand alongside them, but often feel like their inferior. Both shows also have a number of the same voice actors (Sorata and Bell are voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Misaki and Hestia are voiced by Luci Christian, Jin and Ares are voiced by Scott Gibbs, Nanami and Loki are voiced by Christina Kelly etc.) The main difference between them, of course, is that "Sakurasou" is a slice-of-life show  read more

Both have very charismatic protagonists; The two stories happen in a world where there is some peculiarity: in Knight's & Magic, the world has the Knight Runners that fight against creatures and in Dungeon ni Deai, the world has dungeons where the characters end up having to fight creatures. The two anime's are really cool, if you have ever seen one, you may find the other interesting.

How can a medieval anime be similar to a modern fighting anime ? Well because they tend to be a little bit harem style, both main male characters have to increase their power/fighting skills to get to their goal. The fighting scenes are simply AMAZING! In Dungeon, the main character has to face his fear to kill his ennemy before he faces a bigger danger and in Ben-to, the main character have to fight against more powerful opponent each time. In the medieval theme of Dungeon, they uses weapon and magic and in Ben-to, they use their bare hands and legs to kick some ass.  read more

Similar Vibe. Protagonist is very dedicated, outgoing, and charismatic. Both contains the element of a "higher being" watching over the MC, in which the premise is portrayed as a game. Both are very enjoyable! If you love Dungeon, youd like Reikenzan as well.

The main leader protagonists of these series (Bell / Luffy) are in pursuit of adventure. They are able to draw friends and comrades to their side rather easily. They each form small groups (a party / a pirate crew) in order to go deeper in their respective adventures. They get extremely stronger as the series progresses, and also have a personal strength benchmark that they're aiming for (Bell wants to catch up to Aiz, while Luffy wants to surpass Shanks). Although both series' are very different in style & story, I've found myself realizing -more than a few times- that the emotional ride on which I'm taken feels very similar. The play, or balance, between gut-wrenchingly "corny" vs. heart-pounding, intense seriousness is done well in both.

Both Konosuba and Is it wrong to try up girls in a dungeon? are comedy anime set in an rpg environment. In, Konosuba, the rpg world is used as a parallel universe. In Is it wrong to try up girls in a dungeon?, their actually world is set up like an rpg instead of it being set as a world different from reality. Overall, both are really enjoyable to watch and have enjoyable characters; I personally like Darkness more than anybody in Dungeon though.
