You say frequently, but still 4 volumes per year isnt enough for me, sure there are cases of other taking longer, but this is the problem with official releases, they have set time schedule they follow, whereas a dude fanstranslating can go wild and translate way more than 5 volumes per year easily if the content is great.

You seen the anime right, honestly, there will be some really dope volumes but expect alot of slow and more dragged scenes too.
Voume 2, 4, 9 & 10 where the less enjoyable ones IMO, it is still readable, but some arcs clearly were streched too long IMO, if you have the willpower to read LNs, I would reccomend it, but it will take a long time to finish.

The average volume is longer than most LN volumes from other series AND there is little no none fanservice most of the time, and sometimes what saves reading LNs for me, when things are slower is those fanservice moments, before Toaru the other LN I heavily marathoned was DAL series, despite having a mostly subpar plot early on, it is a really enjoyable harem to read, and for me harems done well in LNs are always enjoyable even when things are going slower.

Index series is very heavy on science and religion (the latter to only a certain degree), it is one of the less vulgar and generic reads you can have, it still has some really nice comedy going on, but when the plot drags, you will just have to endure it, and there will be nothing that will let you chill out abit there.
The plot isnt that serious, but it is very complex and sometimes it takes itself too serious... the best way to put it is that it is a great read, but you have to be that dude, that can also read lengthy LNs that dont focus much on ecchi or harem like Campione, DxD or DAL.
It pays off alot in the end, the scope of how wide and complex the plot goes, there is alot of world building and you will find it hard to find another series as lenghtly and featuring as many developed characters as Index.
The LN is a "collection" of many individuals and multiple mini-plots that connect, it is similiar to Durarara in way, but Durarara takes less time to have all these connections really showing.

The Rising of the Shield Hero is for me a 10/10 enjoyment read, but so far around a 9 overall, whereas Index had moments where in enjoyment it was a 6-7, 8, others a 9, a few moments it was a 10 (vol15 and 19, the most fast paced LN volumes I have ever read, major contrast with the rest of index volumes).
I have wrotten quite alot for most Index volumes on the forums for them.
Tate is easier to read than Index, but both are awesome in their own ways (I may still like Tate a bit more that Index, mainly due to Raphtalia being such an awesome girl).

I still think vol1 is the most engaging and adorable, but unlike some people that have started to give it shit latter on, I m really enjoying it so far, and I know some teases that will have us feeling some sweet despair later on.
I dread that I have to catch up with the release, but we will at least have 15-16 also around summer.

I noticed early on there were some writting problems with the translation, hope the company doing it gets their shit together for the latter volumes.

Hello, I saw your Hero Shield LN review... I started to read a bit after finishing ep2 (loved the anime eps), started today, and read volume 1 in almost one sitting.
It is just soo engrossing to read, I feel like each page is interesting on its own, there is always something going on, either resource/skill management or just MC getting new shields.
This feels like RPG heaven, soo addicting to read!!
On the review you said you were on chapter 215? Which volume is that?
