The Main characters from both anime are transported to a fantasy world. The World is like an RPG/MMO with guilds, classes, quests, and monsters. Both are NEETs who use their gaming/otaku knowledge to his advantage. They may seem weak but is actually very strong and reliable. Both Main characters are accompanied by others on his journey to get back to his own world. Both have comedy, action, and fanservice.

Ixion Saga is a somewhat failed attempt to replicate the style of anime Gintama introduced . If you find yourself thinking that Ixion Saga seems unrefined or a good concept executed badly , Gintama is for you . Now if you actually like/love Ixiong Saga then Gintama is your new favorite series .

There is the theme of an RPG setting present in both series. Rather than anything serious though, it relies more on comedy and parody to present various sequences to the audience. Both the main male protagonists often plays the role of a fool but can be surprisingly reliable at some occasions. Don't expect major story in both series but rather focus on the comedy parts for entertainment.

Ixion Saga DT and Outbreak Company both deal with a fantasy world in which characters are enlisted to help others. The main male protagonist is familiar with the otaku culture because of his own experiences. There is a lot of parody and comedy going around both series. The main male protagonist also has odd fantasies regarding many characters on various occasions. There is some "action" but most of it is presented in a fun style rather than anything serious. Most of the episodes are also standalone rather than a linear arc.

It is similar to SAO 'cause the Hero in Ixion DT got sucked up in an alternate dimension and seems to travel with a few companions to find a way to get back to the RW. Although there's not really any romance on this anime. Although in SAO the hero didn't get "sucked up" instead in SAO the hero just got "Stuck in a VRMMORPG".. SO JUST WATCH IT

Similarities: Both involves the characters getting in to the game. Both involves a 4 people protagonist. Dissimilarities: One is more of First Person RPG, while the other is sort of a MMORPG. In one anime the character can get out of the game either voluntary or if he/she got beaten in the game, while in the other anime the character is trapped in the game. The female lead in one anime is an 8 year old kid, while the female lead in the other anime is a year older than the MC.

I've only watched episode 1 of DT so this is what I can say so far: somewhat similar art style Same type of world/kingdom with fighting, magic and flying creatures. The main characters are somewhat similar The main characters ends up in another world in a really weird way and both animes have a little of "crossdressing" too

Similarities: Both MC's are avid gamers. Both MC's found themselves trapped in the game. Both MC's have to find a way out of the game itself. Dissimilarities: In one anime the MC is also playing against other players who were in a life or death situation, while in the other anime the MC is the only one (from his world) who is an actual life or death situation. The MC in one anime was kidnapped and brought to a deserted tropical island to play an actual life or death version of the game he played. While in the other anime, the MC unknowingly volunteered to be transported into an  read more

How did I skipped this. Both shows look stereotypically fantasy/ sci-fi. However, they are essentially comedy, no more no less. There are dramatic sequences and action scenes popping out from time to time, but it's not the bread and butter of the shows. AND the shows will do perfectly fine without them. I believe this two qualified as 'not taking itself seriously' kind of show. It's good for casual audience seeking random humor, but is poison to those who seeks serious thrill and believable drama.

In both series, there is a theme where a main protagonist travels to another world where his life seemingly changes forever. There is a lot of humor and fun dialogues in both series. Along with that, there's the humor, drama, and action. In Ixion Saga DT, that action is presented in the way that is considered to be more a parody. On the other hand, Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?'s action is more serious but still maintains that fun atmosphere. Both series also has some fun interactions between the cast members in the new world that they goes to.

Both are about a Fantasy MMO Videogame and they share a lot of Comedy.

They don't take themselves seriously. There is a setting here for both of them. Police VS mafia and saving the world kind of settings. But they don't care about that. Everything is about making jokes, making them both Boke-Tsukkomi slapstick kind of anime. It just that doing slapstick in average modern high-school setting get old fast, so why not do it where the existence of superpower, werewolves, magic and world destruction is real? That gotta make things interesting. Too bad, that has already started to get old too.

Similarities: Both involves the MC's transported in some alternate world. Both have the same, magic, fantasy and action genre. Both anime involves sword play. Both have strange looking creatures. Both MC's are trying to find a way back to their world. Dissimilarities: The MC in one anime is more of a gamer than an ass-kicker, while in the other anime the MC is a real ass-kicker. In one anime the battle is more like a game in which no extras dies, while in the other anime the extras always dies. The MC in one anime seemly enjoys being in the alternated world and doesn't seem to be in a hurry to leave, while the  read more

Watch the first episode and you will see why Ixion Saga DT is like Gintama. A lot of the jokes are variations of Gintama jokes. This anime was totally inspired by Gintama. Gintama is so unique that it inevitably was going to inspire a whole new genre of anime. I think Ixion Saga DT is the first of many Gintama-genre anime to come.

both where summoned from there world to fight in another world both are teen characters who have no idea why they where summoned if you like one you will like the other i know for sure

The way the story is told is similar. There is an over all goal which they are headed towards but the focus of the anime is not on that goal but more on the journey and comedy. They also share the whole 'happen-to-run-into-each-other-and-travel-together' plot like classic adventure animes.

Like a mostly male cast pulling off hilarious antics without a not-so-visible plot? Ixion Saga DT and Papuwa are both gag anime that share these traits.

Both series are very similair but great. Traveling from place to place to achieve their goal. they got really great humor and makes it really fun to watch. being chased by some characters with a exeptional character traid. But overal very similair tastes. You should definitely watch it if you liked the end.

From game to another world, traveling with friends and defeat enemies... also enjoying "normal" life... Ixion Saga is more into comedy and.... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (I need to rewatch again Ixion Saga to make a better recomendation)

Want to cry tears... of laughter? I suggest you watch these animes. SKET Dance and Ixion Saga Dt will have you rolling on the ground with laughter. Although SKET Dance is placed in a school setting and Ixion Saga Dt is placed in a fantasy world, the amount of humor remains the same. SKET Dance is about three high schoolers who run a club that will do anything for you(pretty much all chores). Ixion Saga Dt is about a gamer who gets stuck in a fantasy world... with an 8 year old princess, a newhalf maid and a knight that has one weakness- kittens. You  read more

Both have the same sexual innuendo element and both looks like that they are good at first but become chaotic later on.

different plot, but both are hilarious and the protoganists are perverts. you get the same feeling watching them

Similar styles of humor-- mainly dealing in the absurd, crude, and occasional parody. Somewhat retro character designs that avoid the standard moe expectations, and both make good use of colors in their art styles.

the main character plays a game he then was teleported to a dimension with the same concept as the game he finds out that he needs to save that world the feel of the anime is the same, basically xD

Based on an game. The main character is transported into another world. He meets his companions who help him get back home. Combination of sword and magic are used here. Ixion Saga is comedy + parody driven. Both series based in a fantasy like world. One medieval and the other Asian. Early dynasty era in history.

First impression makes you feel as a serious story, but in fact there is a lot of comedy moments and personalities wide variety of shapes and ages, in Benbougami ga! women comedy element here Men ....

Both may have different character setup but both of it is anti-generic (or pretty much poking with tropes), they both do have the same level of creativity on observational comedy and usage of spontaneous humor about gaming, though Ixion Saga have redundant Blue comedy (traps) in it while D-Frag doesn't use it much.

Both are parodies of the Isekai genre and have a cast of wacky and hilarious characters. If you expect a regular Isekai story you'll be disappointed, but if you're ready to laugh at all the silly tropes getting inverted and ridiculed, you're in for a fun ride!

Both anime has the adventure/RPG style to it, where the hero is kinda thrown into trouble in some way. Druaga's a bit more segmented since every episode is them climbing one floor of the tower (in most cases). The biggest similarity I find are the humour/gags in both stories, though Ixion's jokes lean towards the more perverted side of things. They are both extremely enjoyable if you give it a few episodes to sink in.

The unlikely comedy that actually has a potential to be serious dramatic action, but somehow disregard any credibility they build up over the course of the show, end up as a full-blown comedy. Sci-fi fantasy settings with fancy weapon and power? Check. Evil knight controlled by some higher secret order? Check. The chosen dude who accidentally jumped into other world and happen to bel the one who will ultimately destroy all evil? Check. Ixion Saga is an old-school fantasy andventure with all mentioned above, but WITHOUT any intention to actually become the full-blown badass anime. It's just a slapstick comedy with unusual setting. That's it. Half  read more

Genuinely funny shows that made use of casual sexual euphemism and being less random than most Youtube viral style "so random it's funny" we see in anime more and more. Stuffs like waterskiing jesus polar bear in a bikini eating spaghetti with noses are not the kind of humor being used here. If you prefer randomness, there are better shows, and even the internet is here to your disposal. SYD, while not one of a kind, is much more original than most school anime that look similar. It is dialogue-based fun, without the over-reaction we see in other cheap funny anime. Well, those are funny too,  read more

The humor in both shows is very different. However, there's the main guy where all the blame is put on him. There is also the young princess and a green-haired girl in both shows. There are also the pursuers who give off a similar feel as well. Both side are working for their own justice. Ixion Saga DT doesn't focus too much on the story line though, while Hitsugi no Chaika does. Many similar concepts although they're both a little different. Both are a great watch though.

Similarity: quick witted comedy and modern cultural references. Not much happens story-wise but the jokes and odd character cast will make you giggle.

Anime takes place in medieval type setting but now in the modern world In Ixion Saga DT main character gets transported into a medieval world while in Hataraku- Demon king gets transported to modern day Tokyo.

Although they have different premises and character designs, both Ixion Saga DT and Choujigen Game Neptune: The Animation focuses on a fantasy world setting where there is fun, adventure, and conflicts. Both series' worlds consists of villains that seems to cause trouble for the main characters. Both series involves a bit of action (although more parodied in Ixion Saga DT). These two series also has a lot of humorous dialogues along with fan service. (more so in Neptune).

The humor in both shows are similar. Both shows have the feel of being shonen-parodies and aimed at a slightly older audience. Not quite seinen but not far off.

Both protagonists find themselves drawn into a alternate reality. Both shows are comedic in its presentations with absurd weapons. In MAR the protagonist uses a talking morphing toy to fight with (main form being a giant hammer/mace). In Ixion Saga DT he uses an Alma sword that transforms into a giant rock-et hammer/sword... The humor in MAR is very Shonen-esque and quite typical. From what I've seen of DT the humor is more geared for young adults. One of the main antagonists names is Erecpyle Dukakis...or abbreviated to E.D. as a double entendre on the name E.D. to mean both the  read more

Similarities: Both male leads found themselves transported to an alternate world which resembles the game they were palying. Both have the same tsundere female leads. Both male leads have to use their wits in order to survive in the world they are in. Both male leads have the same attitude. Dissimilarities: One male lead is transported in an alternate world that resembles the past, while the other male lead was transported in an alternate world which pretty much different from the world he is in. The female lead in one anime is an 8 year old kid, while the other anime, the female lead is the same age as the male lead.

I think you would like them because both of the main characters are transferred to a parallel fantasy world. Also both series have pretty funny moments that make you laugh despite the seemingly serious plot. If you enjoy the comedy in one, you'll probably enjoy the comedy in the other. Both main characters know how to overcome obstacles because they're shut-in-gamers. This makes both series entertaining to watch and provides entertainment to those who like "gamer to an alternate fantasy world" stories.
