| Fucking awesome episode. The Roger comment at the end of the episode intrigues me and depth to the workings of the Grand Line is pretty awesome. You can tell Oda put alot of thought into it. |

| I heard that the pacing got bad around Loguetown, and I can admit that Loguetown was when some silly filler came into play and it lead to the big filler arc, meaning One Piece did take a dip in quality, but I have nothing bad to say about this arc yet. The pacing in this episode felt perfect. This episode was so great that I have too much on my mind to speak about at once... So I'll just focus on the main things. I LOVED how Luffy got in a fight with Lapoon and gave him another person to rely on, another promise to keep so that he could possibly find peace. It was really touching and it was a moment that really illuminates what a beautiful person Luffy is. It was a nice callback to see how awful Luffy's drawings are. You could tell he was pondering what to do the whole time he was listening to the story about his past, and I thought it was hilarious that he moved the head of the ship, "his seat", to the middle of the boat to sit on. "Your buddies dead but I'm your rival forever!" Grand Line is fascinating and if we're traveling island to island then we may get a ton of interesting stuff going on. Whiskey Peak is going to be weird with everyone we've seen from there so far being shady and comical. Mr 9 and Ms Wednesday might as well be team rocket, and the Unluckies were like a badger with sunglasses on a bird bombing people...? I'm curious to say the least. Speaking of those two I really liked the ending of the episode where everyone said not to take them, Nami even exposed them as shady non-humble meanie heads, and Luffy took them in regardless. "What's the problem? Don't worry about the small things", was a line that summarized Luffy pretty well, and in a way Shanks too from what we've seen. |

| Instead of having Laboon beat himself up by bashing his head in, Luffy beat him up to forge a rivalry and give him a reason to live on for another day. They had a really close call with their Log Pose breaking right there so it's a good thing the old guy has a spare. It looks like they'll end up going on another detour but I hope that it's not really the case. |

| Laboon was amazing. First I thought the pirate could be Shanks. But when the old man said it was 50 years ago I realized it can't be Shanks for sure. Wonder who was that man. |
| The old man new captain Rodger and at first I was thinking maybe the captain that the whale was waiting for was captain Rodger but if it was him he would’ve come back to fulfill his promise with the dolphin so it’s probably not him |

| Oh man, his story is so sad. Laboon's been waiting for 50 whole years! And the worst thing they could do was abandon him. Luffy made a promise to Laboon. He's definitely not gonna break a promise. That Elephant bluefin tuna looks so good. I bet it's bussin' Hmm, so you need a Log Pose to travel on the Grand Line. Damn! So Crocus must have been a former comrade or a former member of Gold Roger's crew. |
