MM! (Anime) add
Another showdown on my series of cleaning out my on-hold list. This was probably on my list as back in my early days of watching anime anything that had a DBZ reference was neat. That said coming back after nearly a decade this is a real pain to watch and I am not just talking about the show's masochism.

If you are a masochist or maybe want to know more this is an excellent show but for everyone else, it's some flaming garbage. We follow some bland boy through his journey to cure his super masochism and the main girl is a sadist inflicting pain ...

Igano Kabamaru's relatively high score seems to derive from the fact that only a small number of people have seen it and they must have remembered it fondly but what they see in it I just do not get as by all accounts this is a very average show.

Another factor might be like Evangelion people hold it in high regard because it was a trendsetter in tropes because almost all the usual suspects of stupid anime trope's are present in this show.

The Titular character Kabamaru is super annoying they try and play it for comedy that he is a super glutton and all he cares ...

This anime is for a very small minority of people who like girls that tie their hair up in twin tails. If you are one of those people good for you you love this. You for the rest of us. HOW IN THE WORLD DID THIS GET MADE????

Apparently, there is some rich Japanese businessman that loves twin tails enough to find an artist who also loves twin tails to make an anime about twin tails and also splurge for a FREAKING ENGLISH DUB.

The story is really mediocre. We have a monster of the week format that is not all that exciting. the main boy ...

Normally I am not a fan of these chibi shorts that anime sometimes do. They usually involve comedy I don't find funny but are short enough to be inoffensive. this usually leads me to score them at around a 5.

The shorts this time around, however, are the opposite of what I expected sure they do have comedic elements but they also use them to flesh out characters from the episode the viewer has just watched and they pair really well with them.

I found myself looking forward to them after the episode rather than just putting up with them as I do with most ...

I liked the break time specials. Yeah, they were not fantastic, but at least I got some interesting lore or interactions out of them.

Petit's shorts just feel like a precursor to Isekia Quartet where someone went hey we got these assets from Rezero and overlord why not get some more use out of them.

they all take place in some modern japan equivalent either a school, bookstore, the beach, or convenience mart, and typically involve the characters in some sort of joke skit.
they do not relate in any way to the main story

I did not particularly find these funny or interesting, More of ...

I watched re-zero twice now once in the initial run and then once with the director's cut. Which word of advice if you are wondering what version to go with the director's cut is the way to go as it is technically the finished version. That said I would not recommend re-watching it just for the changes as they are mostly technical details and the new content at the end is also played in episode one of season 2.

I also watched it dubbed the second time around and while I got the usual jarring dissonance you get from switching the dub is satisfactory, not ...

Normally I dock the ecchi/harem genre because one can see what going to happen from a mile away and honestly most of the time people are just there for the fanservice and not the spineless harem protagonist but Hensuki does manage to differentiate itself by not dancing around anything plus the English dub is so Fantastic that it managed to salvage my time spent on this show which is otherwise still pretty mid.

the MC is trying to find the girl who left him a love letter and in the course of that investigation finds that all the girls have some sort of sexual kink. ...

There once was a time when I enjoyed this kind of comedy, unfortunately, this OVA series dragged itself out for so long that my tastes in comedy have long since changed.

The whole series ran from May 16, 2014, to Sep 17, 2020. That's a long-ass time!

These OVAs were apparently released as bonuses for manga releases and other such special events. This really was not ideal from an anime viewer perspective as I just kept putting it off until they finally finished the planned run.

Let also clear the misunderstandings after the 6th episode is where the movie takes place and counts as the 20th and 21st ...

Let's get my bias Out of the way I don't enjoy this type of humor anymore. I did once but not any longer. which is why I am rating it so low it's okay but not my thing. Honestly, I am being generous still giving this a 5 after what they pulled with the first 25 minutes of this movie.

That being recycling 2 shorts from the 8th OVA of the second season. It's kinda inexcusable as it in no way ties to the movie it is just there to add time. I can only assume this was meant to come out before the pandemic and ...

My expectations based on the title and cover: " Oh is Ichica finally spine-ing up and marrying all the girls? I have got to see this.

Reality: It's a Picture drama. the girls are just chatting about their ideal wedding

Yeah...... I will be honest I thought this was some kind of epilogue or something and it's been years since I watched the show so I finally decided to knock this out, but it's really disappointing. one would not miss anything by skipping out.

Ichica is the textbook Harem Protagonist Dense as a rock, and won't pick one girl or maybe all of them but I don't ...
