You may be hard pressed to find some of my recommendations as you said in the thread as some I literally took forever to find and I only ended up watching them because I can speak Japanese. But if you ever come across one of those series that are hard to find with an English dub/sub per chance, I'd recommend them, SOME I'd recommend over others, but they are all series that I enjoyed.

One's that I imagine would be very difficult to find:

Porfy no Nagai Tabi
Glass Rabbit
I want to be 5th Place
Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show
Hanasakeru Seishounen

Less so, but still difficult to find:

Flag
Fantastic Chilren
Mouryou no Hakou
Toward the Terra
Red Garden
Beast Player Erin
Asatte no Houkou

News and Request for Help

Our club is almost one year old and we'll be most likely celebrating it with lots of specials and contests, so you might wanna check out the club at least once every few days as something new might appear in the horizon. :D

We noticed that while the member count keeps growing by day, we aren't exactly as active as we should be. It would be nice to see more and more people chatting in the comments or in the chat thread. I'd like to mention that a chat thread in our club gets closed after a comment or so is made on page 50. I'd like to get this one closed so we can start one anew in our next club year. Thanks in advance.

I'd also be glad if you introduced yourself in our special threads or warmly welcome our new members that have posted there. Also, if you have any trouble deciding what anime you want to watch or if you want to help others, take a look at the recommendation thread and post there.

If anyone is willing to make member cards, just post the templates in this thread or pm them to me. If you have made some other kind of graphic for the club you can post it in the comments or, again, pm it to me.

I'm glad to hear that and see that you rated it with 7/10. That is at least more reasonable.
My message was not exactly aiming to defend DTB. To be honest, I don't really care to defend it badly. I will say though that I enjoyed it thoroughly and it was one of the very few shows (counted in one hand) that were able to keep my interest all the time and keep me on the edge of my chair. So, at least, I give it that.

I was just surprised to see EL in your favs when you were downrating DTB, cause for me EL is one of the worst examples of how things can go wrong in anime. And that is for various reasons. I don't want to be repetitive or write an essay, there is a perfect review about it by another member here. He gave it a 5 and I agree with everything he writes about it, so if you think you can spare a minute and read it you'll see exactly how I felt about it too.
The review is the 5th one from top on the anime's page here. And it's by a user named "kajia". I would really like to hear your opinion on it afterwards.

In brief let me say that I couldn't like any of the characters in the show, and I found that an abnormal relationshipp between the main two was uneeded. It went to the taboo areas you write only for the shock value. Behind that the plot was incoherent with many holes and questionmarks. The characters were acting idiotic and taking absurd decisions. The back stories that were supposed to make me feel for some of them were just there like an excuse, they couldn't deliver any real emotion, and as the guy writes in his review, I really had forgotten about many of them at the end of the show. And so many other things that could be mentioned about the series.
For me apart from the creators being lazy to make a better show, thos people were also completely insane. I have seen quite a lot of gore and violent shows, but this crosses everly line, and not because it "dares" to touch those taboo themes you mention, but because it doesn't trully touch ANY matter. It's not deep as it wants to show it is, it only throws sadistic stuff alltogether just for the sake of it, which in the least I find very disturbing.

Darker might not be epic, as what this word usually defines, but it is a show true to itself, with an actual plot and characters that have a meaning and even a small depth in them. The idea behind the show was unique, the world it created looked realistic to me and it wasn't sadistic or perverted for no reason. So that's enough for me to be happy with this show.

lol sorry i don't mean to offend you, but it just takes me by surprise reading your comment on the last episode of Darker Than Black.. how you say it is not so well done as other shows, and that it doesn't deserve a 9. Well then what about Elfen Lied? Is that a good show with deep meanings and contents that deserves to be praised and put in the favs list? If DTB deserves a 7 then for me Elfen Lied should get -5...

I keep meaning to pick it back up again- I think I've watched about 7 episodes, and then I put it on hold because I decided to wait for a batch torrent.... and then it got licensed! ><" But yeah, I'll look into it again. I think I had also got a little tired of Taiga's antics.

And I realllllly am hoping to pick up Ghost Hunt.... I decided to spend my $20 on Moribito: Guardian of the Sacred Spirit this month. I'm hoping next month I'll be able to afford it, though!

How dare you praise me for my reviews and not rate them helpful. What sort of review reader are you, FFS? I need 1000 helpful votes before I go blind or I can't die happy.

I have watched a rather chunky amount of anime now, I guess - enough for my list to be useful to others. I'm unsure if I should feel proud or ashamed, mind you, but it is how it is, I suppose.

You'll like The Devil Lady if you end up liking Witchblade. They're fairly similar; both dealing with adult, working women changing into demonic, lustful demon-women. The characterization in both is very good.

I'm struggling to finishing Rainbow. Ever since that bro guy went bye-bye, the series has left me feeling like it's over already. I have little to no motivation to watch the last six episodes, which is a shame since I 10/10'd it, three episodes in...

Spoilers? I take it you're referring to the spoiler tags carefully placed across my profile to prevent it taking twenty minutes to reach the comment section? I recommend you open up every spoiler tag on my profile, scroll to the top, and then see how long it takes to scroll all the way through - you'd answer your own question, methinks.

HotD is an excellent adaptation of a decent zombie 'em up manga that mixes shallow characters with gore and boobs. It's great entertainment and nothing more. If you want a bad fan service show, Battle Vixens is the one for you - you'd fall in love with HotD after that, for sure.

No problem. Your message is equivalent to one sentence, going on my average response length. And you won't come across creepy unless you attempt to cyber with me (I'm not into that, FYI.)

Goodbye.

Hey m8! have you seen Nana?
MelbShaw Sep 22, 2010 9:10 PM
No I'm a PS3 user xD. I saw vids of matches with you in it and something about you being the pro-est Nu on 360 and something about gamfaqs (I think lol)? When I saw your mal name I find it familiar about bb so I searched your name with bb on youtube and found out you got the exact gamertag with your mal name
MelbShaw Sep 22, 2010 8:55 PM
I heard you're the best nu on 360? so you're the best lambda on 360 I suppose lol
Sweetpea Sep 21, 2010 4:40 PM
Then number 1 is the one that aired first, number 2 is the one that aired second... and I can't remember how they go chronologically. It's been over 6 mos since I saw the 6th movie ^.^" But I think you'll be able to figure it out as you watch- or you can Wiki them.
