| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Very fun first episode IMO. A little "kidnapping" at the beginning. What a happy family they have... Luckily for the blonde haired kid, the Prince saved him from that arrow shot. The CG was pretty well done too, except for a minor running scene in town. No OP this week it seems; ED was played at the end. Will definitely follow this one through. |

| lol i stayed up for the premiere as well The animation seems a bit choppy, but impressed with the setting and the story has a much potential. Hopefully it will be some what similar to 12 Kingdoms. Has anyone watched the 90s OVA adaptation, and if so why is it so poorly rated? I hope this gets a 2 cour treatment. |

| Who sends infantry running like idiots right into cavalry charge... In a completely open fields... Come on, Japan had its medieval period, why are they showing battles without even an ounce of common sense strategy like in some Hollywood production? When a series starts with something like that I don't even feel like finishing the first episode. |

| the animation in first few minutes reminded me on the berserk movies and not in a good way. thank god they didnt went all the way with the cgi look. |

| I feel like the overdid the CGI a little, but oh well, that many soldiers are hard to animate I guess. Story seems good though, and I like the characters. |

| Best debut episode the season so far. That was really good. Great animation with a likeable world and characters. Story looks interesting enough so I am curious to see where it goes after the time skip. |

| Loved the OST. The ED's animation also was really beautiful. The series looks really promising, though seriously Arslan should be off as a heroine, too moe LOL. |

| Wow, that was pretty fun and a nice way to introduce Arslan into this show. We'll see more of his potentials soon but so far, the show has captured the feel of what I had hoped for. Great artwork, action, and theme song as well too. Hyped for next episode. |

Entertaining episode though, not the greatest fan of the character designs especially when you can pretty much tell who are going to be the MCs based on how feminine they look, that's kinda sad honestly, hope the fujoshi bait is kept to the minimum too. Has good potential here, I hope it's better than Yona though. |

| Something based on the combined talents of Arakawa and Yoshiki Tanaka cannot be bad and this first episode was pretty promising. I didn't like the look of the CGI though. I hope we get less of that in the next episodes. |

| On a scale of one to ten, how generic would you rate this show? Farabeuf said: I didn't like the look of the CGI though. I hope we get less of that in the next episodes. Maybe they will fix it up in the Blu-ray release. |

| Lol the CGI was so terrible, it kinda puts me off when i saw the CGI soldiers were chasing Arslan and the blondie kid. But overall it's a pretty good first episode. Definitely one of my top shows in this season. |

| Kinda boring. Showed a terribly executed battle at the start with eye sore CGI, a feminine timid naive MC will more than likely remain that way for most the show (unless they do another time skip in two episodes), showed very vague relations in the family to be doing a time skip and confirming the kings death (wonder if that was even necessary), and you want me to believe that as they ran through the streets filled with all those people, not one person reached out to grab that kids Right Arm and end it there? Poor animation, writing, and directing? Quite underwhelming. Won't be expecting much, but we'll see how it goes from here. |

| Art has poor integration of CG but I've seen way worse. The backgrounds were good but the character designs were pretty generic looking. Animation was choppy too... Music was fitting but nothing amazing, fine for the episode. I need more time to collect my thoughts on the MC... His family treats him like dirt and he's constantly pressured to become a great king, even taking daily swordsmanship classes. Despite this... Weirdly enough... he is very naive, feminine and happy about everything... That seems... odd... Again, I need more time. He walk up to prisoners who are known to be so violent that they kill babies and he didn't expect them to reach out and grab him... really dumb... The fact that an 11 year old child could kidnap a prince, run all the way through the city and escape almost completely unharmed was so stupid. lol Overall... Eh... Doesn't bring anything new to the table and what they did do was a bit poorly done, except for the music which was alright. Very underwhelming. |

| ED was fantastic. Great art addition by Suzuki-sensei! xD Arslan's hair color and eye color definitely give me the feeling he's an adopted child or an illegitimate child of the king. |

| As mentioned earlier, the CGI looked off as hell. It was a decent first episode, though. What a nice family he has lol. Not much happened, but interesting enough world and character setup. 4/5 |
| The CGI looked great, I don't know what are you smoking. Or has it become something mandatory to say, that if you see any sort of CGI it's automatically bad. |
