Manga in which the story revolves around one or more characters that have made or are making a life-changing alteration to themselves, either physically or mentally.

--fat -> thin
--ugly -> sexy
--nerdy -> popular
--delinquent/outlaw -> normal citizen
--normal citizen -> idol

ETC ETC ETC .. I know there are an infinite number of ways to change yourself as a person. The ones listed are just what I am aware of as a common trope for manga character development.
