some days are okay to cry
AnimeSpoiler
I'm honestly a sucker for tearjerkers and animes that made me cry can easily top off as a beautifully written story yet they can make you feel questioning yourself somehow. Here, I would like to share and compile a few to many films that either made me shed happy tears and tears that flow endlessly.

This anime deserves to be in the top of my list of the saddest movies I came across. I re-watched this twice and cried so much both times. I would love to make a review of this soon because this movie is just so beautiful in so many ways. The way they showed us the concept of immortality + familial love is incredibly heartwarming and fairly sad when you realize there's always an ending to it.

I love how both of my number 1 saddest anime and movie both has the similarity of a flower in their titles :,) Anohana is my number 1 saddest anime and I've re watched this twice as well, and a countless of times at the ending, crying every single time. Friendship, love, feelings of unsaid regrets and attachment is portrayed really strong in this anime.

I highly recommend watching the first part of 86 of course, but the second part of 86 brought me more to happy tears especially the ending. This anime is heavily to the military side and you may be quite confused during the first few episodes but once everything comes together, it is rather heartbreaking to see it unfold. Its so worth it on the last episode of this series and it left me feeling all smiley.

I would like to include this as well even though its more to a music genre. Damn, this never fails to make me cry even with just visuals and especially the music. The story behind this reveals as you watch the music video and the thought of it gave me goosebumps. Sometimes wondering why you're the only one in your own little world can make you question the hows, the whys and the whats, even if you could do anything you wish to.

I have a love hate relationship with this movie. I love how sad this makes me feel and at the same time hating how much it made me cry. Nevertheless, this piece is rather wholesome and the interactions between our two main characters are really sweet if we ignore the sad part.

I have this anime in a special place in my heart, and I absolutely loved the second season. Every episode was so engaging and they did not disappoint with each characters' background. I was wrong to think this was your typical romance shoujo but there is so much more behind it. It's a little depressing in some ways but the interactions between all the characters were such an important part as a whole.

Okay. This anime is honestly something. Realizing you've passed on and reincarnated to fight an opposing factor is rather alarming to take in. This anime as a whole is emotionally and beautifully played out and everyone had a role in the afterlife either in the past and the present, or sooner the future. It also made you wonder why were they there in the first place, and feelings are so strongly demonstrated.

This hit me emotionally hard, the idea of letting go of someone you love is always the hardest. The thought never comes to you until the day you have to say goodbye, with all that is left its a memory of them. It was a bit hard for me to watch any scene like this with tears clouding my vision so get ready to go through that if you decide to watch Plastic Memories. If you're capable at handling that, then good for you!

The anime that almost anyone would say when you ask them "whats one of the few saddest anime you would recommend?". Honestly, I had this anime held back a few times because I gotten spoiled too many times but it is another magnificent written story. There's heavy amount of abuse + music elements and of course sad moments that can't be ignored. As a former pianist, I love how they portrayed feelings and music as their main influence and not gonna lie, its a perfect anime to make you suffer a little.

Do I even have to explain this? Of course, if you hadn't watched Demon Slayer, please do! Honestly, Demon Slayer as a whole is already rather depressingly sad especially the manga, I won't elaborate. But this movie is packed with right amounts of action, comedy and the sad fate of the plot.

I remember watching this movie when I was fairly young and when I re-watched this when I was older, it really hit me in the tears when I realize what this movie really meant. There's always the consequences in exercising something you take advantage of that you do not have before and this movie successfully shows us that. The concept behind this movie is so meaningful to me and it was worth to re-watch if I could.

A very sweet, wholesome romance and considered to have a shorter amount of episodes for an anime to go to. I'm probably one of the few that actually cried a little to this especially near the ending. There is thoroughly character development and it is interesting to see how it plays out. Not too much of something that would emotional hit you in the heart, but it could be rather enjoyable romantic stress reliever!

One of the best visuals and story line, almost anyone would recognize Violet Evergarden. Such a beautiful plot and written characters, almost every episode has a definition of their own sadness yet lingering happiness. Would highly recommend to anyone!

The incredible plot twist in this anime is so shockingly good. I am so in love with the character dynamics in this movie and it was really bittersweet at the end. This was one of the animes for me that had a balance of happy and sad tears especially towards the male lead.

Another popular pick of one of the saddest/good written plot, there is so much character developments in this. I genuinely liked the male lead character and how he was able to navigate his way of letting go. Both main characters were really written in depth and I was happy to see they had an ending they deserved.

This movie was a bit hard to go through, not only witnessing the single mother taking care of two children all by herself but their half-wolves as such. I am no oppose to that but what made me feel sad was another familial love theme being shown. Something maybe similar to Maquia but with different concepts.
