Guilty Crown is a "GOOD" anime series. It has a lot of potential that it just never lives up to completely. The artwork and sound are very well done, but the rest of the elements fluctuate between great and fair throughout the story. It grabs you in the beginning, but it falls flat in the middle and then ends pretty strong. Overall I enjoyed it and I have recommended it to a few friends as a good time filler.

The thing I loved about this series is the overall story, and the struggle the main character overcomes. The power he is given and how he uses it to redeem himself in the end really brings the story back around. It is a love story, there is a lot of drama, there is a lot of action, and this series has a lot going for it.

The problem I have with the main character is that he gets very whiny and depressed for a little longer than is enjoyable when watching a story. He makes the logically correct decisions at times and is criticized by a lot of the supporting characters. He listens to the wrong characters advice at times but for the most part he tries to do what's best for the greater good. All the while his guilt builds and it does set an uncomfortable tone for a large portion of the story. The title is "Guilty" Crown for a reason, so this aspect wasn't a surprise, but the delivery could have been a little better.

Overall this is worth watching. It is not terrible, but it does fall short of being great.
