Kanon is a truly touching story in my eyes, it affected me quite emotionally, at times making me laugh and smile, while others made me cry. It remains to this day my favorite Key work. The KyoAni version of Kanon is truly a beautiful masterpiece and it is an anime that deserves the love it gets from fans who love the series. I love how all the elements of the series flow naturally, and the touching stories of our main characters and those around them. I came to love all of them and found qualities that I admired in each of them. The music is very beautiful and the BGM for this series is among my favorites. The gorgeous artwork of the winter setting is a sight to behold and I just love the sunset scenes that accompany the snowy backdrop. The character designs are an improvement on the 2002 Toei version overall.

*Yuuichi Aizawa-I loved how much he cared for each of the girls he's connected to and how he tried to be a good person to all of them. Yuuichi also has a fun sense of humor whenever he's being a tease.

*Ayu Tsukimiya-Her child-like charisma is what moved me the most about her and how she was always true to herself, Ayu was in every way an angel, with her sweet and bright nature.

*Nayuki Minase-A personal favorite of mine, I loved her kind and gentle nature she possessed, Nayuki is a loving and caring person to everyone around her and I love how she has such a positive attitude.

*Makoto Sawatari-Despite her tsundere personality, Makoto is one of those rare ones I like, I loved her fun presence, she was like a ray of sunshine and loved the free spirit she is.

*Mai Kawasumi-This cool beauty is amazing, from her talent as a swordswoman to how she is protective of her best friend Sayuri Kurata, I love every aspect to Mai's character and how multi-faceted she is.

*Shiori Misaka-Even with all the things she had gone through physically and emotionally, despite all of that, she maintains her kind and sweet nature and lives her life to the fullest.

I loved Tomokazu Sugita's performance as Yuuichi, Yui Horie as Ayu Tsukimiya, Mariko Kouda as Nayuki Minase, Yukari Tamura as Mai Kawasumi, and Yuko Minaguchi as Akiko Minase most of all. Each of them did a great job as their respective character and the dub voices did a good job as well, bringing their own charm into the character.

Each of the stories for the Kanon cast touched me in more ways than one, such as the strong value of bonds between family and friends and to believe in hope and miracles, no matter how small. I also enjoyed how the series challenged the characters in difficult situations and set obstacles for them to overcome and face, and each was handled in a realistic manner. I believe that with everything that the characters go through, the rewards in the end are each deserved and not handed out to them out of pity. I truly reccommend Kanon 2006, and I say again that IT IS definitely worthy of the love it gets and is deserving of being a masterpiece, to give this beautiful series a 5 or lower, to not be touched by the story and it's characters, is in my opinion an insult to a great and inspirational anime.
