Here that wouldn't have fit very well. I'm getting some Log Horizon vibes here; it started magnificently then became a SIMS game for awhile. At least it didn't make the OP character boast to us the viewers for every episode by rehashing victory after victory. His goals clearly need more than power and muscle to achieve so I can see the point of the direction. The comedy is awesome although they do skim close to repetitiveness. Not quite mind you so close call, I'll have to watch season 2 to fully grasp what their take is so far so fingers crossed that it doesn't flop during this half because it didn't end on a high note per say.
I wrote this because people had to know "if they didn't catch it" that he's basically Keanu Reeves, if you wanted to see Keanu in an isekai here's your chance... enjoy lol.
