Usagi Drop is a anime that was air last season. The show is comprised of 11 episodes.

The show is about Kawachi Daikichi, Who is a 31 year old bachelor. Who ends up living with his 6 year old aunt. I bet from the summary your already beginning to think this is another lolicon show. But suprising as it is. It really isn't. Instead I would say if you are a fan of something like Clannad After story you would greatly appreciate this show.

Kawachi Daikichi after arriving back in his home town to attend his grand fathers funeral and wake, meets a unknown girl, who runs away as soon as she see's him. He later discovers that the girl is his grand fathers illegitimate daughter. Due to certain reasons of no one wanting to look after her. He takes it upon him self to raise her.

The show really centres on the twos day to day life. Which is filled with funny and heart warming moments. Especially as Rin begins to open up to Daikichi more and more. Even the family that wanted to leave her to adoption services begin to accept her.

And it really brings back some child hood memories for me. The different situations Daikichi goes through in order to raise the girl is realistic, and the sacrafices he makes for her in order to ensure she is not neglected makes you feel some respect for the guy. As the show goes on he meets more parents, and learns more about raising a child.

His family's traditions, the sacrafices his mum had to make. The sacrafices other parents make for their kids, really kinda make you think back to the days when you were a child who knew almost nothing.

Though personally as an ageing bachelor myself, I feel a connection to Daikichi. Especially since with each day you feel a sense of nothingness in life, especially when you have nothing that you really want from money, or what you can buy with money.

Generally its a slice of life anime. But with alot of important points about modern to day life and parenting. Maybe some of the stuff doesn't apply to some countries. Maybe you can't relate. But this show made me feel all nostalgic and warm inside.

The art work is simple. and at the beginning for the opening scene, is usually coloured with water colours. giving it a very light yet heart warming feel. (I know I have used the words Heart warming a few times now).

The music in it suits the show, each note just feels like its directing your emotions for the characters. There are moments when that key piece of BGM just climaxes on the most touching scene of the episode, making you feel all fuzzy. (Really caught with the OST, Constantly found myself singing the High High High ending.)

However the last episode did not really cover all the open points, so I assume that there will be a second season. Atleast that is what I am hoping for. (Going to read the manga in the mean time.)

Overall its a show anyone can watch, old or young. I personally give it a 10/10 and its a show I can rewatch. Just because there are so many moments in there that I have enjoyed. The characters in there are all lovable.

I know some people will have a different view on this, but this is from what I have gathered from watching the show and what I felt from it.

Also I have submitted this review in a Blog on GT as Phoenix313 (Old Tag, since my current one was blocked).
