Mixed Feelings
My first impression when I watched the anime is that: Oh, not bad, this reminds me of Seiren (a dating sim adapted anime) but much shorter and at a much faster pace. It's a series featuring just 3x4 four-minute episodes in which 30 seconds are taken for outro music, what can I really expect more?

False! Says the producer of this anime Sakuma Takashi, as he stated "One Room is actually a unique, trailblazing show full of much deeper and subtle meaning", "something truly revolutionary, something that really digs deep into the human psyche. We thought we really hit it home with One Room, but not one person seems to get it.”

While his ranting and criticism towards us viewers goes on and on: “I guess everyone is too used to watching ecchi garbage; they can’t put in the effort to think.” (then don't make it a bloody ecchi anime dammit) If that's what he's going for when producing this anime, he made a big mistake.

All these cute anime girls who with a sweet outside but vague personalities seemed rather just a tool for the men of culture to enjoy themselves fantasising with different waifus. Maybe the characters' actions provide hints? It's pretty much anything you can find in other anime: naughty words, cute giggles, slices of life, "I can't make it, I wanna give up, but now I can make it after your support!". You're telling me that I'm supposed to find depth? Where the girls are portrayed in such a disrespectful and misrepresented manner? Under the flood of ecchi camerawork and the spot where the imaginary persona stands never revealed? Whoever can do this must be a pure saint (or the producers), which is also impossible considering the contradiction as a saint wouldn't even touch this anime.

I'm a positive person, and I want to view things positively. So while depth-wise this anime has failed miserably, it's like a $2 hot choco you'd casually have at 7/11 (or any convenience store equivalent). Because as predictable, cliche and basic as it may taste, it is still a decent cup of sweet and comforting drink that we all can love. Nonetheless, the art and sound design are incredible, and as the season went on it kept getting better and better. And again, as I emphasised several times before, the girls are cute to watch, the first heroine Yui especially, quite a bit of fan service too.

The studio behind this anime really has huge potential and I want them to be successful, but they must put off their arrogant mindset and find a clear balance between a meaningful narrative or a commercial product under the fast consumption of the ecchi genre.
