Mixed Feelings
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (2019)

The story centers around the character Hajime who suffers from an unfortunate event due to betrayal early on in the story and ends up becoming an Op, Alpha male, edge-lord, self-insert character for angsty chuunibyou. Personality wise - Hajime is pretty shit, despite his ever growing power and harem, coupled with the fact that most of his classmates and teacher actually care about him, Hajime treats everyone and everything aside from his party in the same cold and unforgiving way regardless of whether they deserve it or not. This often leads to situations where people will quite literally get on their knees and beg him for help in situations only he can resolve only to adamantly refuse to help until either a party member convinces him otherwise or he has an emotional favor to return to someone in his past.
The female characters in Hajime's party are similar to Hajime in the sense that their backstories are given early on which give some context to their respective situations in life but like Hajime none of them really grow past this initial starting point as characters but instead resolve themselves to ultimately become "Hajime's lovers" while making excuses for his shit behavior and decisions. The rest of the cast of characters can be summed up in two categories, either your a Beta male meant to make Hajime look stronger by comparison or your a potential harem girl meant to lust after Hajime if you get into close proximity.

The art used in the series is good enough for the most part but the CGI in some areas are pretty shaky mistakey.

The sound used throughout the anime is alright yet the Opening song is the one thing that really stood out due to the entire lyrics of the song being in English and just how well it sounded overall.

The show itself is enjoyable but if you choose not to watch it, you wouldn't really miss anything other than the nice Opening song and a protagonist who acknowledges the girl's feelings for him instead of mishearing or misinterpreting.
