I read the first two chapters and decided to wait for the adaption to come out. I have always been more of an anime watcher anyways. The wait was worth it, and manglobe did a great job creating this. Being the only show if its season i had read & enjoyed, it was my most anticipated

What happens when an obsessive galge player is tasked to live his life as the character he plays or face death? A satire of the cliches of the industry, and this can apply to any anime or manga too since many are adaptions of these games. Now, the comedy is pretty subjective if you enjoy this type of humor and it is a good part of the story as well.

However, they were able to weave the emotions of the heroines in their respective arcs very well. I sympathized and related to them, they changed from characters i instinctively disliked to ones i loved by the end. Each 'conquest' was able to get me to love the character by the end. Even the rich, short, twin tailed, snobby, ojou-chan whom i typically despised won my adoration through this show. Keima sets off to solve their problems which are generic to a point to allow satire, and infuses comedy and dramatic elements perfectly.

This show runs in small segments, heroine arcs cushioned by pure comedy segments. It is a shame that the story completely resets most of the time, but it is a good thing that the plot does well to make Keima into a respectable lead instead of one with a large harem.

As much as i lavished this show with praise it is a good watch especially if you are a fan of the romance genre, or are sick of watching an endless stream of failure relationships.

P.S. The soundtracks are awesome.
