Story: 10/10
I never knew this show was going to be a prequel of Ga-Rei. The creators of the show never said this was going to be a prequel. After I watched Episode 1, I was shocked at what they did with the main characters. They immediately killed all of the characters. I'm liked "Are these guys digging their own grave? What are they going to do now". I was planning to give up on the show but I decided to watch Episode 2 to see what they're doing now. Thank God, I never left the show. After watching Episode 2-12, I was amazed at the story of this show. It was somewhat more superior than the manga itself. I also never felt like Episode 2-12 was a filler. I felt they were significant to the story. Story synopsis is there for you so I'm not going to summarize the story.
Art/Animation: 9/10
The animation was awesome. It didn't get a perfect score because it had it's few flaws but those flaws aren't really that significant. Even the design of the Spirit Beasts was awesome
Sound: 9/10
The Soundtrack was amazing.. Especially the opening soundtrack. Whoever composed the soundtrack, prop to you. Soundtrack gave me goosebumps on some episodes. Again, it has flaws but not that significant. The soundtrack between Kagura and Yomi's final fight scene was also emotional.
Character: 9/10
The characters were well designed and well developed. Each character had their own likable personality. You have Kagura, the protagonist of the show and a girl who always smiles. She's Yomi's step sister. You have Yomi, also the protagonist of the show and later becomes the antagonist of the show. She adopted Kagura after Kagura's mother died. These girls are step-sisters but their sister bond relationship make it look like they're actually real sisters.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I really enjoyed the show. I never got bored of a single episode and I managed to watch the whole season in a day. The fighting scenes were awesome and it felt like I wanted more.
Overall: 10/10
This show is truly a masterpiece... Great story, great character development, Great soundtrack and it made you want more after watching the Final episode. Note that this is a prequel to the manga series Ga-Rei. Unless you've read the manga, you won't understand part of the story.
