Both titles are character driven comedy.
Both titles have little girl befriend deliquent girl with cute side.
Both titles posters looks alike.
Nozaki romance is main plot while Tanaka is in the background.
Gekkan Shoujo is more "noisy" and funny, while Tanaka-kun is more heartwarming and calm, but both feature a really fun and lovely group of not-so-similar teenagers that befriend one another. The comedy parts of Tanaka-kun and Gekkan Shoujo are really similar, and both anime have the same pleasant vibe.
- Both feature a fantastic cast full of likeable and fun characters, none of them feel like their comedy part is getting tiring or repetitive at any point of their anime, instead one ends up loving them more and more after every moment they appear.
- Both have a romantic subplot with one girl liking the protagonist, sadly for the poor girls, it always end up being played for laughs because they don't realize said love (Nozaki is denser than a black hole, and Tanaka is way too lazy for a relationship).
- They are absolutely hilarious and the perfect choice for having a good laugh.

Both shows base a portion of their humor off misunderstandings. While these misunderstandings are often unintentional, they develop into running gags that last throughout the course of the entire show. Both shows also utilize a medium-sized cast full of colorful, quirky characters whose interactions lay the foundation for good, well-timed situational-based and relationship-based humor. And, finally, the setting and premise are pretty similar. After all, Gekkan Shoujo and Tanaka-kun are both centered around the lives of "normal" high school students.
These shows will make you laugh yes or yes! Unique and weird characters, nice art and some vanilla comedy. Each episode gets better and you'll want to watch more. As a plus, both shows have handsome dudes and cute girls, so no matter if you are a boy or a girl, you'll enjoy it.

If you are looking for a great high school Slice Of Life/Comedy, look no further, because both shows fit the bill. Both anime feature incredibly lovable characters that will worm their way into your heart and never leave. While Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun pokes fun at shoujo manga tropes, Tanaka-Kun Is Always Listless uses more grounded and calmer humour to entertain.

Both are comedy slice of life anime with rather plain protagonists, which are surrounded by a cast of colorful characters, in a highschool.

If you really enjoyed the aesthetic of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, then Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge is a great series to watch as well! These two High School based series have a similar fun and easy going vibe, and are both the same length in terms of episodes. The pacing for each series is easy to follow and the consistency in that pace allows for a continually engaging story.
