nice to see another person who's a fan of him. the guy is an absolute legend. havent finished yet so not sure if we will see him again even for a second but his story was amazing through and through.
the first thing i wanna address is that last thing you said. the thing a lot of ppl dont understand is that trigger isnt just one person, just like any other studio, every anime has a diff staff behind it. i say im a trigger fan but im an imaishi fan (the director of ttgl and klk). him and nakashima (the scriptwriter of ttgl and klk) have only worked on those two projects together and you've seen how amazing those ended up being (as a side note, that was why they only showed ttgl and klk in the promare trailer because those are the two things they've made together). so i have an extreme amount of faith whenever they get together and make a show from scratch so odds are promare is gonna be great. you can miss me with the guy who directed and wrote darling in the franxx, fuck that shit.
and as for klk vs ttgl, they're both 10/10 for me but in the end i choose klk over ttgl. like you said when it really came down to it, the only characters that i really liked were kamina and simon. simon was (obviously) well developed and kamina was just a beast, but that was the extent of it. klk had all those chars that you named and they were all fantastic. in the end i think i enjoyed klk a bit more.
that's what i like to fuckin hear. imo it lived up to being the spiritual successor of ttgl, it was just as ridiculous and just as good looking animation-wise (and just as good straight up, for me at least). now all we need is promare next year, these guys already make tv series like klk and ttgl look amazing, but now we're getting movie quality shit from them sooooo yeah, i have extremely high expectations for that.

it's not that focused on the sport as other animes are
