The opening scene shows such amazing color and depiction. It's not 3D detail, obviously, but the depth of it virtually screams "look at me." Then there is is everything else - the city and the trains all in the measure at which things pass.
And then, you add the characters. So much for maintaining any sort of positive balance. I feel it was ruined at that point.
First and foremost, their appearance is completely opposite of how amazing everything else is. The rain is supposed to be metaphorical and they play off of it with everything that can fix it. They are ugly characters. The color and
...
the art style in which they are portrayed is such a disappointment. I think maybe if we could leave this at just dialogue without action or very visual, it may have had a chance and fixing what I feel is so broken.
I don't know what went wrong. The idea and the plot could have been executed in so many better ways, but they weren't. I was so disappointed.
Being at its rated as high as it is on here, it's obvious that more people see is vastly different than what I give it credit for, but I often clash with a ratings and one way or another by a whole bunch. Unfortunately this is just another one of those that I've run into.

Even up as far as episode 10, I still held out hope that this could turn into an eight. Regularly, that never happened. What should have been done is leaving it all light-hearted and without any sort of pretend conflict.
This really comes down to a slice of life kind of magical period show. It's simply just happy and friendly, but it wasn't until episode 9 that any conflict showed up. Rather than trying to make it hardcore and deep in that little period of time with a lot of typical fighting and camaraderie etc, they just kind of sprinkled it through with each of the
...
different bad guys before pulling them all together for a predictable and disappointing end.
What would have made it better for me? Let's at least give the poor guy some sort of romantic interest or even a close companion towards somebody. His attention is spread through so many different characters. I understand that his whole thing is about being oblivious because he always had his overpowered hometown that made him believe he was weak (why the hell didn't somebody tell him just how strong he was? I mean for the love of God people...)
Lloyd put so much pressure on himself to do what you didn't need to. Let's just give the poor guy a close relationship with one of the girls. I have my favorite, but we're all supposed to when it comes to these kinds of things. Speaking of romance, Marie gets a stalkerish character that shows up in three different places and only one of them was maybe 5 minutes. It was a really weird setup that ended up being necessary in the honest sort of way in the end, but shouldn't have been.
Slapping on a 6 and recommend because it is worth a watch for something light.

This is another beautiful work in line with the rest of the series. I absolutely loved the first two seasons and, while I did enjoy this, I felt a little bit of disappointment and I can't exactly pin down just exactly what it might be.
All the characters were virtually the same, though appropriately adjusted for adulthood. They were still young women and had continued to work (kudos to the mangaka that made sure people understood they were working for what they wanted to do rather than just magically having money or getting it from their parents as an allowance.) That still share their love for
...
camping to work in a big way this time, but by building and sharing it rather than partaking. The idea is very novel and it's well adapted.
I think it's the fact that they aren't teenage girls just going out and having a good time like I was used to in the first two seasons that has me a little let down. I know things can't always stay that way and it's great to see them still stick together because that's hard to do once you leave school and go to different places.
I am very much looking forward to season 3 in 2024 and expect a return to roots.

First of all, let me get the most important part out of this: Machi is best girl. She's better than anybody else on that show. She's like 10 or 11 acts much older than that and more mature than Kuga. Thank God Fumio has her. I don't know what's going on with him, but they may want to get it addressed. He was especially neglected in the show. Getting 3 to 4 words to repeat after Machi says something just really pretty sad. I know this is an anime that has 12 episodes, but as a parent, that screams out trouble to me. Just a
...
me thing.
This is such a terribly watered down romcom. Kuga is your typical idiot MC. He's a painful thing to watch. He has absolutely no guts and no courage (and even as far as the last episode) he was too nervous or too afraid to still do normal couple things like holding hands. It's like Tonikawa, but weaker.
Side note: what the hell was the point of making it obvious that Kuga wasn't interested in Goshki (3) and then the next episode (4) he's head over heels with her. It was a terrible way to switch that so it would push the plot forward.
I can't recommend this. It was a painful thing to get through and my desire to not drop it won out.

I really wish that there was something that I could pull out of this ungodly boring story that just carried on foreve. It's insanely bland and it drags on and on as the result of it. I think the most important episode should have been moved into a much more relevant place then the finale. There is just too little for me to be able to pull together a lot of positive information.
The characters were actually adequate, a couple were at the top all the time, all of the people he brought in in search of additional cabinet members or food connoisseurs or those that
...
know how to battle. They were good characters.
Out of all of the ones that were brought in, the one of greatest importance at the time, Tomoe, never showed up again until a shopping trip late in from mid season 1 until season 2 for a brief/half episode shopping trip and then at the outro of the last episode at which she had about four words. I'm curious what the point was of bringing her in if they didn't anticipate sticking to the original demon Army theory.
The promise was set up to focus around the demons that were invading the North country and nothing was done with them. Instead, basics on how to build a society took precedence didn't nobody can deny that that's one of the most boring things you can experience.
The war episodes, 9-11 or thereabouts, were good. I really enjoyed those and I thought maybe we were going to have hope for something better, but that didn't happen either.
The harem was thrown together in an emergency as if it was a forgotten subplot to support an iseakai. I absolutely have to say that Lecia got screwed and so did we! She was probably the best character out of the entire show but was never developed and was always pushed to the side. She should have had a more implemental effect on how things went and how someone ran his life day to day.
Why did I keep on going to the end? Well, I thought maybe there'd be more stories and ways of handling things that might get better, but instead we got filler episodes at 21, 22, 23 and 24. I don't know who put that together and thought it was a good idea to push filler episodes at the very end of the last season, but they need to put in a corner and told to stand in time out.
It took me a long time to get through and I'm sorry to tell people that this isn't worth your while because I know to some people it's going to be, but I can't really recommend that with a full conscience behind it.
As difficult as it was for me to get through this, I'm going to throw a mixed feelings on it and a mid-level ranking. There may have been a lot more of negative things in this review, but I still feel that there could be something redeeming for someone.

I certainly like the first season better than I do the second. This showed off what an awful type of person Yuna is, though I don't know if she really recognizes that she's being inconsiderate of other people. As long as she keeps doing enough good stuff, she's covered. She thinks only how you Yuna wants to think and do. She does only what she thinks is best. She runs around with this ego that they try to play off with an embarrassed presentation when it comes to praise.
I'm not saying that she isn't a good person and that she hasn't done enough good
...
things, but she can be completely irresponsible with how she reacts to things. She acts on emotion without restraint or responsible consideration, which leads to misfortune if left untouched. It's a serious downer for the show in my opinion. It's a lot like she was before she went in at the beginning of the first season.
It seems like her overpowered MC feature was elevated to unbelievable heights here. Situations just had an immediate outcome that came with no opposition. She came in and blew away whomever was in her way and it was over. Not uncommon for the genre, but I have to ding it here because I ding it in every other over powered MC review. It's a trope that I really don't like.
This can be enjoyable if you look for it. The side stories around the show and the characters are very likable. Fiina is a crown jewel. That girl is such a lovely character. All of the children are portrayed well on the whole.
The queen is a very nice presence throughout this season. She handles every scenario with dignity and the responsibility/rational responses that Yuna lacks. She doesn't take exception or grudge to Yuna's irresponsibility. I think it would have been a great influence on Yuna if she was able to have that very serious sit-down conversation that all parents need to have with their kids. Yuna doesn't admire her.
I think it's worth a watch, despite the misgivings I have with it.

I guess I don't know why I expected something special out of this. It is exactly the same as any other Konosuba production. I liked the first season, but the second left of it to be desired in the movie was terrible simply because nothing happens. Nothing changes. The characters are all still idiots. There is no fluctuation in how they behave. Once a great while it would be nice to see some one of them, especially Kazuma, to have a slight turn of unselfish behavior. Or act out for someone else's good.
With that in mind, we got continued behavior, though it was solely by
...
Megumin in this case. She is an incredibly dislikable character (and if I don't like her, that means that she was well written and well performed.) I enjoy the struggles she has at the end of the season when she first gets to Axl and can't find work. Kind of some retribution for all rotten brat. She is very lucky to have an undying loyal friend in Yuyu. She is best girl through every iteration of these shows so far, though I think Darkness could give her a run for her money in the first installment. I honestly feel bad for her because all she wants is a friend and the only person she's ever really had is Megumin. All she knows is she's going to be shit on but she continues to be kind despite that. My heart goes out to the poor girl.
I watched this through because I thought I owed it to myself to continue to watch the series. Now that there's a season 3 of the main show coming up, I'm afraid I'm going to force myself into it again, though after this, it probably will be a lot easier not to give in to that.
Slapping a mixed feelings on this.

Just as with the first season, I enjoyed this quite a bit. Yes, this is a harem isekai, which we see over and over, but I think this brings something different to the table.
This one, plus another from this season - an Aristocrat's Other Worldly Adventures -put a different look and how this is done. They're both lighthearted and fun and put a core to work towards, all while maintaining a general sense of community and way of life.
Toya is not one that goes and does heroic deeds endearing times that draw the ladies in. None of these ladies are leering or chasing
...
after him and they aren't fighting with each other. Normally you see and insane amount of jealousy (and abuse of the poor MC because they can't control their emotions) with this kind of thing. It could get ugly in a very big way, especially with the amount of women involved in this. There's obviously a lot of story to be told yet and I'm really hoping that season 3 comes along to finish it.
The long and short of all of this for me is that it's just fun. It's extremely light-hearted and you can follow the story without any sort of convoluted nonsense. It's really refreshing to find a show that will take and include typical tropes for the genre and then make them present, just not in the same way. It's not shoved down our throats.
A lot of people here are complaining about a light story line that doesn't progress anything and the characters aren't likeable and yada yada yada nonsense. Simply put, if you don't like it, don't watch it. Nothing says you have to watch it all the way through. I have a feeling that if someone goes into a show like this one and it's atypical for the genre that that's mostly why people have a problem. It's easily solved by simply removing it from your watch list.
A solid recommend slapped on this one.

This was a real treat. I didn't know what I was getting into, but I'm really glad it worked out.
The cast was put together really well, I love the dub acting. The compliment of Alice to Clara was a perfect yin to yang. I think it's impossible to not love Clara, even though you may not be able to stand her, there's enough to love. She's super child like, but a fun addition that was really necessary.
There were options presented for a potential harem and the show never went there.I was truly jonesing for Ameri and I don't know how you couldn't. Speaking of
...
her, I have a new waifu!
Now the part that disappointed me and brought the score down from a 9 to an 8. Everything through the first 18 episodes was amazing. It really just sold itself. That being said, from 19 to 23, I was so totally let down. I understood that they needed to blow off some steam after the climax that had developed, but one episode would have been enough. This didn't leave a lot of room for anything a little more challenging, but it got to be all nonsense. The songs that showed up from Clara and her family were completely gratuitous and ate up screen time. I have a feeling that that may have been the goal, but take off 2.5 minutes and it's closer to your end goal. I am really disappointed in that.
Slapping a recommended on this.

I want to like this. I do. Unfortunately, there is just too much nonsense for that to be possible.
There are too many repetitious scenes and behaviors that just get under my skin. They don't even try to hide the fact that that's what they're doing and it makes some of the episodes drag badly. The show can get serious and do serious things and do it well, as in episode 12, but there's not enough substance to carry an episode. There is just too much crap. I won't be watching the second season, though I'm sure that there is hope for it once the finale
...
gets going.
I'm going to slap a mixed feelings on this because it might be somebody's cup of tea, though I personally would not advocated if somebody asked for a referral.
