As much as I like Made in Abyss and hate seeing it get low scores, whether it be because i liked and most importantly enjoyed the show or because I'm still on a hype train, I read your review and I agree with you. Maybe if he had toned it down a bit he wouldn't be getting so much flack... Why did he even add those scenes in the first place? While some try to argue that hey're just children and thus shouldn't be bothered of nudity. The way Reg acts throws that theory into the abyss.

Read your Abyss review, you're really hung up on piss and nudity and 12yo boners, there's so much more to it than that.

...And by "so much more" I mean flaws. It has so many glaring flaws it's ridiculous. I get it, it bothered you, it did me as well, but despite the weird fetishes, the author could've delivered a fantastic story regardless. But did not. 12yo girly has unreasonably big balls, facing death by monsters repeatedly with no fear for only one, weak reason, special character robot guy with the convenient amnesia is a walking plot convenience whose purpose is to make us believe how an average 12yo girly could possibly descend into a pit of monsters and survive even a day, world building is 0, it's basically a failed Ghibli wannabe, there's nothing worthwhile underneath the pretty wrapping.
