Man I loved your Fire Punch review, I was unsure about continuing it but after reading that I think I'll buy volume 2 and give it another shot.

That was an excellent FirePunch review

Hehe, about Fire Punch being a criticism about Shounen, yeah, it's pretty wild he then went to do a Shounen and succeded at it, but that's something that honestly doesn't surprise me of that writer, as he's so self-conscious, lol. And yeah, some panels in Chainsaw Man are otherworldly (quite literally, too)

And Yes! I enjoyed a lot Aku no Hana's anime. Though honestly, even though I wanted to get into the manga right after the anime, I just couldn't, because I must be one of the 0,00001% of people who... actually misses the anime's animation? :(
Hehe, but seriously, even though they're not "character designs", but rather just actors drawn upon, they're pretty good actors!!! I thought the casting was amazing, and it was the only anime ever where I could actually say "man, those anime characters sure can act". Lol, I know character acting is also a thing in anime, so I'm just saying I got used to the anime.
I'll probably just read another one of his works, but as I just watched Aku no Hana recently, I want to wait sometime before diving into the manga from the start. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy his works (I also like Inio Asano, with whom he's been compared before. Don't know if you've read anything by Asano).

So thanks for the recommendation :)

On a whole different and totally random note, please watch Wonder Egg Priority. It has only just premiered, but I'm pretty sure you'll get a lot out of it, as you too seem to find themes and characters more important than plot in stories. I can't speak for the whole series, as there's just one episode out, but man, even if it goes to shit after this, that episode is something I'll be recommending friends for a long time. If you know nothing about it, just go in blind. If you've seen the trailer, you'll still be going in blind, lol. If you do watch it, let me know what you think of it :)

Hehe, yeah, forgetting you have an account is definitely not uncommon, lol. And hey, You should totally write more reviews! I should too, actually, but it's rare to find something that truly inspires me to write a review. I wanted to ask you if you already gave Chainsaw Man a look, as it is from the same writer as Fire Punch. If I'm being honest, I feel like it isn't as wildly ambitious as Fire Punch (can't actually think of anything that IS as wildly ambitious as Fire Punch... Maybe Eva?), but is equally creative in its worldbuilding and maybe just as insane. I feel like the writer must have gotten a bit of backlash with Fire Punch, it being so heavy, sprawling, and, frankly, inaccessible for mainstream audiences, so he made a shounen next. While it has a ton of things that make Shounen's shounen, his personality and quirks clearly come through, and it still finds ways to subvert common expectations of the genre. (For one, the protagonist motivation is the WHOLE opposite of the "Big Dreams" you usually have in that kind of manga, and that's completely on purpose). So, while more accessible than Fire Punch, it's still made with a lot of care and thought put into it. So anyway, if you haven't already, check that one out because you're sure to love it if you loved Fire Punch.

And also, yeah, it feels nice talking to someone who gets it, hehe. So you can recommend me anything you think I'd probably like :)

Man, I just wanted to say that I REALLY really loved that Fire Punch Review. I just finished reading it, and even though I love stories for their themes, this one had me a bit confused as to what it really was about. Even though I loved every bit of it, I was for a moment thinking... is this about suffering? About religion? about identity? There are so many themes in this manga, and your review made it clear to me: It's about stories, so it's about everything at the same time. How religion is portrayed as stories we tell ourselves to keep going, how the protagonist tells himself lies to not go insane, how Togata can't really live without movies. It all fits. And yet, its themes don't really call attention to themselves, or at least not at first sight. So again, great review. Thanks for writing it. And yeah, that manga is completely unique and amazing :)
