I've probably seen too many anime when I was a child, and my brain has thus been restructured to appreciate them more or less critically: but that doesn't stop me from occasionally acting like a fangirl^^.
I am likely older than you. Possibly very much so.
I also have an ego-complex and spend too much time reading 2ch, which has butchered my (already low) argumentating competence.
I grew up watching anime from the early'70s so I don't really pay attention to animation all that much, unless it borders on unwatchable levels.
What I like are either complex plots, engrossing ones, or just funny ones (often in a demented way), or well-executed character development. Love it when there's both.
I tend to like manga better than anime, but anime, on the other hand, require much less effort to follow and are easier to get through.
Favourite manga artists include Nagai Gou, Inoue Takehiko, Takemiya Keiko and Hagio Moto,Yoneda Kou , Urasawa Naoki. I also like quite a few Shounen Jump manga and BL manga and novels.
