Hello! I'm Nicole. I'm 21 years old and live around Melbourne, Australia. I became interested in Anime during when I was 15 years old and am trying to get back into watching Anime.
According to a (validated) personality test I'm pretty introverted, very conscientious and open to a lot of new experiences. I also get a little stressed out sometimes with all my studying and work!
I enjoy reading, psychology, playing video games and enjoying a cocktail or two occasionally.
I am a pretty busy person when I am not on holidays. I have finished my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and am doing my postgraduate studies and writing a thesis. Aside from that, I tutor university and high school students in Psychology and Statistics for the Social Sciences.

That's pretty cool! Yeah the amount of safety factors that go into engineering those buildings is pretty crazy! So you would hope they hold up! Ugh Sky diving... I could endure it if I was paid a decent sum of money :) but it's not something I would want to do for free. Heard a few stories about the parachute failing, one where it failed but the guy survived thanks to landing in some thick trees/bushes, still broke over half the bones in his body though :(
Haha! Feel sorry for the guy once he found out about the test XD Must be a lot of cool experiments in psychology. Reminds me, I just watched Shutter Island the other day, was a decent movie, a bit like one giant psychology test!
Hmmm yeah it was good that you watched it shortly after the other series, so you could still remember the details! Hopefully they will make more Darker than BLACK one day... I see you loved Soul Eater as well!!!! Damn that show was pretty awesome haha, shame the last ep was so warped XD
Study >_< I don't really have to do much study this semester, since I only have 1 exam... but all my other courses are fully internally marked, which means a lot of major assignments/reports... which are all due next week!!! Which is why it's been pretty out of control lately haha. How's school going for you at the moment?
Hmmm well there are a few funny ones... One where they were constructing a bridge and they started building it at either end, aiming to meet in the middle, to save time/costs or something. However once the construction reached the middle where it was suppose to join, they were offset from each other by 10 meters or something haha.
Another is from a Fire Engineer who was lecturing us not long ago, he told us about some studies they did with fires and how people react in large workplace buildings. One test they did was having some new employees working in a downstairs office, they released some smoke through the roof/doors, and basically all the employees did was look at the smoke and keep working XD.
Glad you liked it! I thought it was the best out of the 3 series, even if it was so small! Yeah I felt bad for Hei as well.... can understand why he became an alcoholic! Pity you didn't get to watch it before you saw the 3rd series, but better late than never!
Ha, how is your studying going? I need to start mine soon...
I enjoyed it at the time haha, was many years ago... not sure about now :)
Ha, we do have one or two I think; been many years as well since I've been to one. But from my memory it wasn't that big :(
Cool! Glad you find it interesting as well :) Yep it is quite amazing how they managed to build those structures, granted they did have a lot of slaves to help out!
Hmmm I haven't looked into skyscrapers much, since there are none in Tassie >_<, but all tall buildings do move slightly due to wind! Even ones only a few stories high. I haven't heard of any that are.. but I'm sure there is; so many crazy designs these days! Mostly only hear about the failures rather than the success stories, such as the millennium bridge in London... swaying due to the vibrations of people walking in sync together on it. Feel sorry for the engineers dealing with that haha
Oh, how was that mini Darker than BLACK series? Hope you liked it :)
Ha, I would of been hesitant as well XD Great that you were able to though! I've done some ice skating before... took me quite some time before I didn't suck at it! Shame it doesn't snow much in Aus, so we could practice more :(
Hmmm hard to say what I like more... do a lot of both at Uni, but I generally get more work done solo, as we tend to just talk too much if it's a group project with my mates haha. What about yourself?
Few projects actually! One individual, looking at the old roman structures like the Colosseum; and how that technology translated into today's buildings. As those structures are still standing after thousands of years... whereas structures these days would be lucky to see a few hundred. The other one is a group project looking at designing a massive transport warehouse which is situated in a really windy location up north. We haven't done much so far though... mainly just looking at the wind effects on the building.
Basically everywhere you went there was water fights! Even if you were in the car :o
Hmmm been quite a few years since I've been out of Australia, maybe about 6-7 years.
What about yourself, done any travel?
Wow! That sounds like a lot of fun! I've never been snowboarding :(
Yeah it does seem pretty interesting, actually had to work with some of the 3rd year architecture students a few weeks back! Was very interesting seeing their views on the project compared to ours, a lot more concerned with the 'artsy' side of things haha
Ah, well at least you got to see some! I'm sure a lot of Aussies still haven't XD Was there a lot of snow where you were camping?
Hmm it does sound pretty interesting, would definitely make for an interesting career, and you get to help people as well! I think jobs that deal with people are generally more interesting, more variety I guess. Well I hope you get in if that's what you want to do!
Originally I was thinking about doing Architecture... but found out I would have to travel up to the north of Tassie for the course (which is 5 years), and I still wasn't sure if I wanted to commit to it. So I had a look around at the courses offered at the Uni close to me and decided to try Engineering since I knew a few people doing it... turned out to be great! Although just about everyone I originally knew who started with me have dropped out since the courses are pretty hard :( Made some good new friends though, and like you it's a career where I will be helping people, just not as directly as you :)
Ha, I guess so :) It never snows that heavily though... unless you go all the way up the mountain! Would love to go somewhere where it does one day! Have you actually seen snow in Melb before?
Ah I see, I hope you do well in your final courses and get into Uni then! Sounds like you have more direction that I did back in college! What made you choose psychology?
Yeah, there's usually snow up there most of time! Can see it clearly from my house, but apparently it snowed on the weekend near the Uni (quite some distance from the base of the mountain), shame it wasn't a weekday :(
Cool! I think the school system is a bit different down here; what's VCE? Oh, great that you want to go to Uni! What do you plan to study?
Yep, luckily it hasn't been that cold since!
Nice! It was actually quite warm down here today as well, didn't feel like winter for once haha ~.~ Oh, it snowed here as well a few days ago! Not where I live... but some people sent me photos of them making a snowman!
I study civil engineering, still got about 6 months to go till I finish! What about yourself?
Cool , I hope you do get time to check out that little series! I thought it was quite good :) Plus you get to see Hei transition into being a alcoholic ! haha
Ah, that's a shame XD I'm generally pretty active on this site these days.
Yep! So damn cold >_< was 2 degrees the other day, when I was coming home from Uni :( How is it over in Melb? Slightly warmer I bet haha!
It was very different! Found it quite funny that Hei had basically become a mean drunk :o I liked it as much as the first series overall though! Shame it wasn't as long :( Since the ending felt kind of rushed.
I think I know why you felt like it was a whole new series, as there is a mini 4ep series that links the two! It's called Darker than BLACK: Kuro no Keiyakusha Gaiden, basically about Hei and Yin after series one. You should definitely check it out!
I see you just finished Darker than BLACK's 2nd series, what did you think?
Stumbled on your profile while I was looking around the site, and just wanted to say hi :) Always glad to see more Aussies on here!
