We would like all of our members, old and new, to help keep this an active, and fun club, a place to Chat and to seek out recommendations in our General anime and General Manga thread as well as the specific anime genre threads, such as Drama and Romance and Sci-fi and many others as well.

It’s a great place to make new friends, or renew past friendships, and we urge all of our members to drop by, and post in the various threads and comment section, as well as share you expertise with other members.

We look forward to seeing you all here !

Dead Leaves is pretty much like Redline, but comedy-driven instead of action-driven.

I guess that's one way to put it, but... it's mostly because there isn't really a climax. Most movies keep a steady pace, so to speak, and I don't like that.

Free people with powers fighting an organization with the same powers. Fighting over the dudes who just got powers and don't know how to use them. Just watch it :P

Lol! Yeah, but the manga is miles better. Only manga I actually wait for every month.

Hey, nice to hear from you again...you have gotten better I expected your reply next year sometime Lol
I am well, haven't watched anything worth recommending lately except for Deadman Wonderland, alot of people have a problem with it, but I don't read manga so don't know the differences, sometimes ignorance is bliss Lol
I am focusing on shows at the moment, like Dexter, Vampire Diaries and such. Do you watch any shows??
Well, its funny you mention, I love Ergo Proxy and someone also recommended Texhonolyze to me a couple of days ago. I was told it was slow paced which am not very fond off. Ergo Proxy moved very fast and thats one of the things I enjoyed about it. It could have been one of my favorites if it wasn't for those damn fillers. Given the plot I think Texhnolyze is worth looking into.
So, how about you??? What have you been up to??
amiluvgazetto Oct 31, 2011 8:58 PM
Oh I see.. well that's kind of strange huh. Well thank goodness you kept your stuff on separate HDs :D Sometimes it's nice to reboot the compt..
Yep I do have to find businesses as sponsors.. should a headache, soo many rejections!! T^T Most don't even response!! Now I only have 2... but that's only because my dad helped me find it. I guess it's really important that you have connections somehow :/ And arrgghhh the event is this Sunday >.<

Haha goody.. but wouldn't there be air-con in the office??? Hmm but then you'd be lazy-ing around in the office.. XD
I know right.. depends on how the weather is this Summer..it could be like last year where it constantly rained. Actually I don't want that... But not humid.. Welll, I am used to the tropical heat... but Aussie hot humid climate is just unbearable.. I think since I'm always inside home and never ever go out much, I'd rather be in dark secluded cool place.

Pretty much yeah. But I will take the time for some series after I finish college. I hope I can go back on track. I see..oh you're still using your HTC?? Man, everyone I know now uses HTC, even I am haha. Maybe you could get a laptop/notebook one day.. It's such a convenience, just bring along wherever you go. Hmm I'm not too sure about that, I thought laptop and notebooks are similar somehow. Yep I have wireless on my laptop and bluetooth (but I don't know how to use it lol) Ooo a panasonic..niiiice!! Well yeah, technology advancement is sky-rocketing!!
Buuut Buut what if I don't want to convert my HD XP

I think it's cos my college is a vocational school or something I dunno. Yahuh it is, but the questions require short answers so I'm fine with that, beats writing up essays and such haha.
It's my last year for Diploma, I'm gonna go for Advance Dip next year for 6 months and then hopefully uni.
Nawww thank you :D

Whhaa!! You should've stopped them from giving you spoilers!! Haha so you would rather watch anime than reading the novels... I would too actually.. I've got heaps of books I've been neglecting..
That's all you get for breaks??? That's kind of suckish to be honest. Hahaha yeah you have point there. As long as you have some breather from work it's all good :D

Holy fudge, I didn't realise it's past more than a year since I've spoken to you on MAL since July-ish 2010?...
But yeah thank you for being my friend and online big brother all this time m(_ _)m *hugs you* ♥
xKaorux Oct 31, 2011 11:45 AM
I only need to re-sit one because i had a really bad teacher so I failed it :'(
I dunno which will be best for me. I have been to look around some Uni's just to see what they like and hopefully one of them will accept me XD
I think I will watch/read some stuff come christmas.
By the way Happy Halloween!! :)

Usually in Finland there are these re-education camps once in a 10 years they last about 10 days or so, but only about 50% needs to go to one. I hope I don't have to. Yeah Im mainly doing weekend night shifts (great wages anyways) for example today my shift is from 6 pm to 5.40 am.

I think Katanagatari was just great. Haven't re-watched it, but when it aired I used to wait for every single episode as they aired monthly. Even though the art style is what it is I liked the series because it had new atmosphere in it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Well it's a good luck we prefer similar series I'd recommend you:

Glass no Kantai / Glass Fleet

Raising an army made out of common people against gigantic empire led by aristocrats can be difficult especially when your most capable ally is a space pirate. The setting for the story has many loopholes and plot holes, but it doesn't bother the viewer if it isn't thought too deeply. There is something wrong with the character design, but I can't figure out what, but it never has bothered me to an extent. You should be patient with this one as the story progresses. Glass no Kantai has more serious atmosphere than most of the following, it has romance but it doesn't show up immediately. As for character development this series at least offers decent one. Out of all of the series I'd recommend this, though it may not be the best I feel it is what you're looking for.

Kaze no Stigma

I think I have recommended this earlier. It isn't anything great or awesome, but a good basic set of Action+magic+slight romance. There's really nothing to complain about the characters are well made both in art as in persona, the story is nothing grand but it isn't anything to whine about either, the art re-uses a lot of same clips (probably the biggest downfall of the series), but it hasn't bothered me ever too much. A series that most people easily like, main male protagonist is one that I like a lot a capable guy for once. As for character development weeeeeeeell... there really is nothing major for exception of one of the char.

Ookami-san to shichinin no nakamatachi

For a way lighter team there's Ookami-san and her seven companions. More of a comedy+romance+parody I liked the main character couple. The whole story of course is a mess as well as the story writing and the action in the series is more of a story telling method than anything real, but it is reasonably funny and entertaining. The story itself is about both main characters wanting to improve themselves, though it is a cliché they want to become strong to protect their friends.

Shinrei Tantei Yakumo

This. When it aired it definitely was one of my favorite series of the season. Story has supernatural elements in it and the part of being an actual detective and making deductions is just there for the setting. The series really is more about action and awkward romance, the series is only 13 episodes but it has a Light Novel version of it in Baka-tsuki though not many volumes has been translated yet. There is character development it at the very least is decent and as far as I consider it's actually pretty good because it is pretty subtle, but as the series is only 13 episodes many of the things that happen between the time skips in the story are left for the viewer to imagine.

There are many other series, but I didn't mention them because in anime they usually just make the series to promote manga sales so the romance is being clearly hinted but it never leads to anything so the viewer will want to know what happens afterward and will keep reading for the rest of their lives. I like all of the series mentioned above a lot and have re-watched them multiple times, dunno really why I like them so much because none of them has anything revolutionary about them, but they appeal to me for an unknown reasons.

And for a great and revolutionary series.

Watch Baccano, enough said one of the greatest directing in 21st century anime. It fits the category action with a bit romance very well, though there is not much of a character development to speak of, but you'll understand why when you'll watch the series.

Good to hear you are doing fine :)

Yeah, racing movie. It's a lot like Dead Leaves but with amazing Madhouse's art and animation.

Indeed, but I don't really like movies. Things like Towa no Quon and Break Blade work, though. Heard of them? Pretty good.

Also, I noticed you don't know Kuroshitsuji and this guy was talking you you about it. To be honest, the anime is not good. The first season may be all right, but that's it. The manga, on the other hand, is pretty good.

Heyy Lol To be completely honest I thought you ignored the comment...then moved on...Lol and then complete forgot till now.
Okay, I forgive you XD
Yeah I completed Soul Eater a while back, the ending was a weakkk I felt like the entire series was better than the last couple of episodes. Stein is great but my favorite is Death The Kidd :D He is Awesome.
Well, thanks for getting back to me and hope your computer doesnt die on you again. Hope to speak to you soon.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
