Both Psychological animes with battles of wits and finding out what ur opponent has. Both about gambling.

Both have extreamly weak characters at the beggining of the show, but turn out to be badasses later on. Both have concept of being trained by "masters" who don't involve themselves much and are confident in the ability of their pupil. Both animes gather powerful allies to fight a gang/organization. Sub characters are also very enjoyable.

both suspenceful and have a cat and mouse chase for the protaganist to find out the identity of the antagonist. Both animes explain things so it makes it easier for hte viewer, although Higurashi can be a bit confusing at times. Both are ranked pretty high too.

Written by twin brother of the guy who made Naruto. Both have main characters with a demon inside and both have gangs/organizations trying to capture the demons.
